A nice documentary about Cannabis and also the other uses it has, takes a look at the UK policy on Cannabis and why it is actually illegal.
Even the ex MP drug advisor David Nutt had some research that was based on fact, yet turned down.

Some people from the UK might remember the guy, but basically there’s so much money being spent prohibiting the stuff that it’s kinda causing a large loss.
Anyway, it’s quite an insightful documentary that’s worth taking a look at.

And surprisingly some Imperial States allow cannabis, I thought the punishment over there was lethal injection or something. That might just be Texas.

It’s kinda strange considering the advantages really do outweigh the disadvantages, naturally, like alcohol + cigarettes excessive consumption can be dangerous, but Cannabis isn’t as dangerous as the other two.
Not only that but it’s practical uses as mentioned is somewhat amazing.

Netherlands is wrong in that, it is decriminalized, you are allowed to have 5gram on your person (legal limit that a coffeeshop is allowed to sell you).
Anything on an individual that exceeds 5g’s gets confiscated and you get fined. Coffeeshops are legally allowed to have 500g in stock.
An individual may grow upto 5 plants on his own property for personal use.
Grow ops (cannabis growing operation, can take place in any building thats big enough) are actively fought. Police work together with the electrical service company to find grow ops. Even still, if every police district would close 10 per day they would still be no where near to “solving” the cannabis problem.
