I dont understand how portal can be played with a controllermabob it really makes no sense
If you buy the PS3 version you get the PC one for free! I also dont blame them for pushing console versions, they have got steam for the PS3 now and the console market is much bigger.
The ps3 version will be more expensive though and as its steam you probably cant give the ps3 version to some other guy and keep the pc version for yourself.
45 euros? meh…

Yeah, 10% is kind of a small discount so saying it’s preorder, the only thing you get is portal 1 (which EVERYONE has) and that Valve own steam.

You can buy the two-pack with a friend and enjoy 20% discount, pretty nice imo

seriously, steam pricing and pricing in general is getting on my balls. 20% on that is nothing. I dont know how much longer the game will be (incl. replay-value co-op etc) than Portal 1, but I’m pretty fed up paying huge amounts of money for games which I know are sold for half the price in other/the neighbouring countries. It’s just not right. Yes, I’ll buy it as I love Portal and actually do want to support Valve, but when I see the game being available for like 35€ on a UK website, then on the steam store for 45€, and lastly in a local store for like 50€, I’m wondering whether something has gone dearly wrong in some people’s heads.
edit: disregarding that, yes, 20% is decent.

That’s exactly what I’m on about.
To be fair to steam, the sales that they put on are some of the best in the world. You can get games for nothing if you can wait for them. Also I love the convenience of being able to pre-download it so it is ready the second it comes out. And I will always prefer my games being saved in the cloud instead of having to install it from a disk on different comps, which is useful for me going from my mum’s to my dad’s.
