save yourself time and work and record right from the beginning on. use mat_picmip -10, hwmodels, r_lod 0, record at a multiple of 30 or 60. go on with the uncompressed shizzle with lagarith (u can use another one as well, but this has multithreading), and render 2-pass at 5500-6000 and faac audio at 160.

Yeah looks loads better. Out of interest, which settings did you end up using for your export from sony vegas and compressing?

Then Megui: x264: unrestricted (DXVA) – insane
unfortunately there was no x264 unrestricted 2 pass [..] option which was recommended from pldx.
the only problem remaining is/was that i cant decide at wich bitrate im encoding so the vid got very big and has now a bitrate of nearly 20000 which is unnecessary. if someone knows a solution to this problem i would be very happy.
