It’s beta 1. Beta 1 is not pretty. Beta 1 is textured, that’s it.

If it sucks in a few versions, I’ll look into getting someone to detail it.

Yes the opening at last can get taller.

And yes the metal pillars reach the roof. They used to not, though… lol

And I think the angle at the same ramp is too sharp which makes it really hard to surf into the health pack like before. Or maybe it was your intention to make it that way to begin with, idk.

Yeah that’s pretty easy to fix too. Changing the ground to the nicer looking grass/dirt broke ramp physics, I’ll just put an invisible block bullets ramp (will affect splash and collisions)

Early betas aren’t pretty. However I’m working on it a bit, I don’t want to go super crazy on detailing yet because I want to get feedback from the eXtv tournament coming up or at least a few teams scrimming on it or something.

Just played the a17 version yesterday on TF2Pickups. Kinda liked it, it’s a very versatile map with plenty of possibilities for each class, really : long sight views for snipers, various rollouts for demo/sollies, easy flanking for scouts etc.

Plus, midfights bring out new challenging strategy because there’s no real choke and the place is huge. You need to focus a lot more to be efficient and I think that’s pretty cool.

The lobby in b1 has a nice piece of high-ground in it to break up the large room, try that out and see what you think.

Rockets and pipes are less effective in wide open spaces. Your argument is invalid.
However, I kind of dislike the middle as it is right now too. There could be more props or height variations.

Interesting. However I think this map is too new for it to be included in any big events. I’d like to see at least a season with this map.

Changes:
Changed tape on mid to logs
Sewed displacements; there shouldn’t be cracks in cave or floor anymore
Fixed 2nd cap point clipping with roof
Made the fence on the bridge at 2nd larger
Last control point glass opening thingy got taller
added block bullets ramps over the ground at choke so that they should function as ramps again for splash and pogo jumps
Removed the log piles and replaced them with ramps up to the height
added mashed potato memorial
replaced mid with viaduct mid

I thought about removing one entrance to cave, and then making it so that the only entrance on mid was between where the two are right now, but I decided against it because that would make it really really easy to spam both choke and cave from roof and make the only viable flank logroom/banana.
