Soldier Weps, Overpowered or not?

Lets just use TFTrue remove the mini crit and the instagib for scouts, lower the damage fall off and increase the splash abit. Then we can change the FaN aswell
ie make it a slightly tweaked Rocket Launcher instead of a real alternate weapon.
How is it a tweaked RL when the splash it still small, so its hard to damage multiple targets and focus targets with other soldiers? So what you lose in multiple damage situations, you gain in killing single targets ie. playing a more aggressive roaming soldier.
Thus being a good alternative in the right situations.
Pretty sure that’s already the case. I simply don’t see why the splash needs to be increased.
Because you would be lowering the direct damage to stop it one hitting scouts.
I dunno about additional splash, but the rest sounds reasonable.

–Anyway, either get valve to balance it, or create a new TFTrue, which will prompt them to do so.
If we do get a new TFTrue, can we modify the other classes as well and kick valve into doing more than just one?

you wouldn’t get mini crit if you just hit a target mid-air but you would if you just hit 2 consecutive shots.

I think it’s fair to say that the majority would like the DH tweaked, at least slightly (my personal preference would be just to get rid of the minicrits on people that are just jumping normally.. other than that I think it’s fine). What I’d be interested to hear is if people think a ban would be necessary if we’re forced to play with the weapon as it is now (as there’s no guarantee valve will change anything or that the whole scene will switch to using tftrue). Again as it stands personally I don’t think the weapon’s perfect but I don’t think there are sufficient problems with it to warrant a ban… I imagine that some of you would disagree :)

I feel it would be better to get mini crit on the same person. So for instance hit med once, second hit would be minicrit.
This would count for all shots.
The second would have to hit within a time period.
Lower the damage to the normal RL and with minicrit you would do about 120-130 ? I think ?

What’s the point of minicrit on second direct hit? Unless it’s a heavy or overhealed and constantly getting heals solly, it will be dead anyways, so minicrit will only cluster up the screen.

What’s the point of minicrit on second direct hit? Unless it’s a heavy or overhealed and constantly getting heals solly, it will be dead anyways, so minicrit will only cluster up the screen.
If the first hit isn’t a crit it won’t kill them or even close.
especially if its medium-long range, however doing 2 direct hits over medium-long range would provide a good damage seeing as minicrits result in no damage drop off.
And if it would translate to other targets (ie hitting a medic then a scout without missing a shot) it could be very interesting
it might even reduce the spam since you have to hit in order to gain a proper damage increase.
and maybe reduce the damage so it doesn’t 1 shot scouts on a non-mini-crit
