wow this is starting to become a really productive conversation
Quoted from CrashSite
Turns out there are two of you, now you can compete for my amusement who is the slowest, we can have a retard-off. Also the reason why I am not responding to you calling me a bad solly is that I do not care about you, I only care about the arguments surrounding unlocks atm, in least in terms of this thread. I was hoping that either of you could come up with a half-way decent counter, so I could have something intellectually stimulating to do, but alas.
stop denying it!
also, inb4lock cus madmins

Well, you used tour own gamesense to justify equalizer (how I would do it)
thus bringing your own soldiering skills into the discussion, which frankly aren’t in any way comparable to those of any decent soldier

You have no way of knowing that. That is a massive presumption on your part and is that a basis for an argument. For example Dummy (who claims to be Div 2) said he would try and kill a solly with the equaliser instead of backing out and letting his team clean up, I think a lot of people would disagree with that.
Being Div 4 does not mean I do not know how to play the game. For example both Norrla and Wonder used to play Div 4 and 5 respectively and now they are in Div 2. I know many people who are good at their classes and love the team that they are in who could be playing in higher Divs.

Yet you are still playing in div4, which proves xzr’s point that you bad.
The equaliser is not balanced for competitive play, because it rewards failure and is designed to equalise skill between bads and good players. Instead of discussing whether it is balanced or not, you should be arguing whether it adds to strategy.
Pro:
Gives some more dimension to the slowest standard class
Con:
Reduces rollout failure
Reduces impact of failed jump
Does this 1 pro outweigh the con and the fact it’s imbalanced for competitive play?

In your case, as your ex-team mate I have to say that I disagree.

but anyway i dont think i said that, i said that its easier than shovel while it shouldnt be :s u said equa was only capable of letting you get out of situations as on a good lvl you would die anyway, i said thats not true, both are possible and are bein done

I don’t? Soldier is the hardest class to play efficiently in a top team. You owning face in div4 or racking a few kills on mge doesn’t weigh in at the least. As said, if you really understand the game so fucking well then why are you in d4?
trolol
MGE is probably the worst representation possible of actual game performance. Hell, even normal DM servers are better.

Are you saying it is OP, because in the Seasons I have played and all the PCW’s, sollys have had a bigger role to play in the game, but not one that is over powering, scouts and demo’s still usually outscore sollys.
Also you seem to think it works the same way as crits, it does not allow a bad player to get kill on a good one, the equaliser is a movement tool and nothing else, you have to be very lucky to get kills with it. Also are you suggesting that there is any solly in Div 5 up that can’t preform the rollouts on all maps? If you are you are misguided, the equaliser allows both sollys to be buffed on mid and the back it is an alternative role out it neither here nor there.
It does not ‘reward’ failure, more it lessens the impact. Instead of being picked you can SOMETIMES escape with it, but this requires your medic to stop healing other targets, or for the solly to drop out of the fight, or even for his team to pull back. It onyl rewards failure if you get a kill with it, and then if my medic got picked like that, i would blame myself not the equaliser.
