would you like to shed some div5 insight on the discussion about the unlocks my dear sir? I am quite sure I’ll find it an enjoyable read.

Honestly I don’t think pitting 2 heavies against 2 scouts is exactly fair. If you every enter this situation during a match then you’re doing it wrong. If the enemy team has chosen to replace their scouts with heavies, and you intend on keeping your scouts, then you can’t just treat them like a normal team. You’d probably have to reassign your scouts to exclusively target everything but the heavies and let your demo and soldiers take care of them instead.

Although it would be fair to say the heavy could use a few tweaks to revert him back to his previous state whilst maintaining some long needed buffs.

Implying heavies could use GRU then there is no real use for a scout since heavy runs at about the same speed with gloves equipped…

Some maths for you.

Quite frankly, less than 3% of the teams in ETF2L make up the premiership division. There are 10 times more teams in division 5 than in the premiership, so yes. I’d care about division 5’s opinion more than the prem’s.

That doesn’t even take into account that most prem teams have a strict 6 man lineup while teams in division 5 often have between 6 and 12 players. So infact, you could say that there are ~15 x more players in division 5 than the prem. Even if every team was running only 6 players, the premiership would have -60- players and the rest of the league would be boasting a massive -2040- players.

Quite simply, if I was in division 5, I would be saying ‘who gives a fuck about the premiership opinion’. It’s like a small group of super nerds trying to ruin the game for the masses ;)

Following that logic we should allow every single weapon and remove all class limits, because that’s the way public tf2 is organized (which has way more players than all of etf2l combined) ;).

You have a point in your reasoning, but you completely ignore the fact that premier/d1/d2 players have a way better understanding of the game mechanics.

This. They are in Prem for a reason. Not just because we had to split up all the players into groups. Prem contains (for the most part) the best players we have.

As such their view on things is worth more than the one from all the lower divs combined.

I see your point xzr, but that obviously doesn’t apply to all those 2000 players.

There are also a lot of premiership players who have very little understanding of the game, but just have good execution at pre-existing routines and strategies. At the same time there are lower division players who simply can’t execute their game knowledge in the game, maybe due to bad hardware, inexperience or bad hand eye co-ordination.

Look at starcraft. Several korean league commentators have absolutely excellent knowledge of the game. They understand how every unit works, every unit counter works, can determine who is winning a game in a heartbeat… but they are not high level players… at all. They don’t have the micromanagement, multitasking capabilities etc.. Same goes with TF2. Someone might have all the game sense in the world, but if their aim isn’t good enough, they will struggle to use their game sense to any advantage.

Not to mention, a division 5 team isn’t a division 5 team due to one player. You could put any single prem player into a bottom division 6 team, and they still won’t get promoted with their existing lineup + 1. The prem teams are premiership because they have a team of the best players. Ruling out one division 5 player’s opinion, just because his team is in division 5 doesn’t make sense. Infact, ruling out any player’s opinion because of their team’s league position doesn’t make sense, especially when the decisions made do effect them too, not just yourself.

You don’t even have to play the game to have a good strategic mind about weapons, strats, maps. For all you know, this division 5 player could have watched every premiership game since season 1 and could very well have a better understanding that yourself.

I disagree I believe the knowledge given to the div6 players alone would get them promoted
