Wireplay have a great admin team with the best of intentions, but the problem is their main sponsor (web fusion) is absolutely useless. If you look on wireplay.co.uk, the last newspost regarding TF2 is from 2008 talking about ^wotr^.
ETF2L needs new admins, Not because there is anything wrong with the current admins, but a huge number of them are inactive and they just need more people with a “Get Things Done” (TM) attitude.

Gibbz you answered your own question. The smaller leagues are doing it becuae they lack player numbers/interest etf2l already has them all why do they need to compete ? It’s not like everyone is going to leave for esl etc. Although they should
be offering more prizes that’s for sure.Fucking hate iPhones for typing!!!!!
Well no. I didn’t answer my own question. I asked why isn’t etf2l keeping up with competition. You should NEVER get complacent. My point is, ETF2L should take advantage of their player number, not sit on it and abuse it.

TF2 has become that game where you have to decide what you want out of it. One of the keywords from the FAQ, was that they will CONTINUE to do updates to the game, this isn’t the end at all.
Wireplay thank those teams that HAVE taken the effort to sign their members up and register, it’s ever so hard for leagues these days to please everybody – especially the top tier. TF2 was cool when dignitas played a season at wireplay and played goldrush, now people are just out for prizes :) Leagues are getting harder to run as time goes on, and the community just needs to support them in what ever way they can. Prizes aren’t THAT easy to just pinch out of thin air, this attracts the top teams (why :/) which attracts more of a player base (hopefully). Then you have unlock rules to figure out, which you will find yourself doing constant circles to find a happy medium – and you still get people being extremely upset with whatever you do. I think the community need to support what is there, rather than doing the opposite.

Its a game. ETF2L is too casual to compete with other leagues, if more players signed up to wireplay etc the competitive scene would grow a lot faster.
Still, it is a game and it becomes less and less interesting every day, valve have managed to sustain my interest until recently. This new update breaks the game for me.

I mean with all the visitors you get and with the ads and donations surely there is something more you can do? Is ALL that money going towards hosting?
Been waiting nearly a year for an answer to some of those questions ;)

I’m holding my breath as we speak.
I defiantly think A LOT of the poly count unlocks are way too OP, like the milk, also the pyro sledge hammer

Never understood a league that has so many players and teams can only manage to offer 6 headsets to div1 winners and not get any decent sponsorship :/
I’m looking forward to Wireplay, and I think more should be done to get people to sign up and play there, considering they are actually offering something for winners instead of a pixel trophy.
Who’s gonna come here if they have better prices? All the awesome div1+ teams that only play in ESL? They have no reason to increase the prices at all costs (keep in mind etf2l doesnt really make any money unlike esl) if there’s no other leagues that can compare. Imo.

Alot of the times ETF2L has chose the side of the lesser good teams I want them to listen/ask top teams and follow them cause either the div1/2 teams leave or half of div5 and div6 teams I think we can manage with that and people interested in competative play are mostly interested in higher teams how they play etc. So I don’t see the problem with attracting new players who have been using the FaN or so on public alot and now have to get used to the scattergun they will probably be put in div5/6 if they start playing so they got some time to get adjusted.
i would really like to see the ETF2l admins having a thorough debate on what items we can and can’t use. The natasha for example is a great weapon but its way too powerful, as is the equalizer IMO. I don’t mind ETF2L not having prices though, I just play for fun.

equalizer OP, What you been smoking boy?
I do think that ETF2L have been sitting on their arse’s on allot of matters that need attention. As for wire play ect I think people just don’t take it seriously I have no idea why.
Yes Gibbz, but you got to consider that the minor leagues are trying to catch up with etf2l’s work and explore new fronts so they can atract more teams, by getting more insight and toughts from the top teams and observing the game as it changes. Cheers to ESL with the new anticheat program. I just think that in order to improve our beloved competitive scene I think that there should be 2 rulles sets so both teams should agree on which to use in their following match. This would make the old unlocks story be a story of the past or atleast make it easier to choose. I believe the ETF2L admins know what they are doing and I still believe into the staff. Just listen for about 10% of what the community wants (where are that cool pools you had once) and it should be a better season. I remember 2 and a half years ago when I bought the game, it was so fun to just play even though it was so simple and classes had their few advantages and disadvantages. Updates came. Full pub servers of pyros and heavys that stand still and W+M1, and later on pcws and matches with rocket launchers that shoot at lightning blaze speeds and stun effects from the fastest class in the game. Yes, a migration of weapons and playstile which we never tought it will be transfered to competetive play. Why can’t we have updates such as the Medic update which implemented new ways of playing, which actualy require a little thinking and positioning? Where are those shinny new items that will make the player say: “I love playing with this weapon, if I use my brain corectlly and not just the aim it could bring an advantage and then the victory.” Sorry if this is offtopic but I just wanted to get my toughts and ideas in here (maybe someone from the staff would actualy care at what I typed in here). Also now my concerns:
Scouts throwing with milk at people and killing them with a fish, a heavy that runs faster than a pyro and a sniper being invincible to headshots (actualy support full body shots so people can get better at sniper). Also items sold at 17$ (3 dollars less than the actual game), and a steam wallet which can be used at it’s full potential if your account gets hacked.
Grab a Snickers Valve.

Tbh most of the things gibbz brings into question are on-going issues that have been highlighed, not caused, by recent events.
I think as competitive TF2 is growing “commercially” (on a much smaller scale to IRL sports), leagues are going to have to do more to maintain the interest of top teams. Personally, I’m just happy to play in a league where there is a importance on the result rather than playing PCWs day in day out and to gain promotion. But I don’t think it would be very costly to arrange 2 match servers for the winners of Division 1 and 2 with their sponsors Multiplay. With that said, thats probably not what they are after.
Quite simply put a vote up on the unlocks and make some exceptions on reasonable ones like the equaliser and kritzkrieg.
I know some people are complaining about the admin team being unstaffed but if you want to support this league, the best thing you could probably do is make an application to join the admin team.
