Ban Natascha?

As teeth-grindingly annoying as Natascha is, I don’t want it banned on the pretense it slows the game down. If we do that, might as well start banning Engineer and several other weapons. :|

When this game turns vanilla it will die… and you will know who to thank…

at least u will fan user!

kuma

the point is, other weapons are banned on the pretense that it slows the game down, so why not Natascha?

Pendji

Who cares about slowing down the game? Its called uber pushes and smart tactics.

Psyche

If the majority of the people dislike the slowdown effect then I don’t see what are the arguments of not getting it banned? Can you enjoy a game where you are silently raging because someone was retarded enough to invent a weapon that SLOWS DOWN other people? I can’t…

“Oh it’s a valve weapon, they put it in the game so they must be right! Let’s keep it so lower skilled teams can have a chance against better teams by using retarded tactics to piss the others off!”

Please…

Natascha almost wraps your body in ropes and sticks you to the ground when you’re under fire. How is that not overpowered? Focus the heavy? Try focusing the heavy when he’s slowing you down from across the fucking map (Ye, 40 damage rockets will do a lot here heh?) Oh I know. Lets run a sniper to get the heavy killed! Nah… that doesn’t work either, the fat guy can just hide or spam you.

Does anybody regret having the sandman, the buffbanner, the crit-a-cola, the tdh banned? Cos’ this weapon’s stats are based on the same thing – Different gameplay where retards can have an advantage.

(Yes, flame on)

the man has a point

I’m against banning anything, but some of the better counters against natasha have been banned for AFS.

sooner or later a set of rules that cover ALL unlocks need to be made (not this pick ‘n’ mix that we have atm)

potential rules,

1, Ban all unlocks (yes this includes the medic unlocks)
2, Allow all Valve unlocks
3, Allow all unlocks
4, Allow all unlocks that can be unlocked through achievments, community unlocks are allowed after a set period of time has passed (e.g. 3 months)

Personally i’d like to see us go with option 4, as 12 weeks is ample time to craft the community unlock you want to use using random drops (it is very easy now), and i believe not imposing stupid limits will help TF2 grow.

the pick ‘n’ mix system we have at the minute with major decisions made by a few, who seem intent on maintaining the ‘status quo’ is not sustainable and adds to the confusion for anyone new to the community

Pick a rule set and stick to it

That’s retarded.
Go vanilla+medic unlocks and we’re fine.

While I agree with the rest, this bit is impossible. The unlocks vary too much and overlap too much with the other weapons for a single rule to cover all.

,(s),

If rule 4 was a serious option it would have already been implemented.
The achievment process is just a convenient excuse for banning community unlocks, while the real reason for banning anything still stands, it is the fact that most of the new weapons do not improve gameplay, and a fair amount of them diminish it.

Imo it is a better move to ban natascha, or make heavy cl_1, then to allow some of the previously banned weapons.

The rule that allows the use of any item, if both teams agree on it, guarantees that the most popular banned weapons will still see usage.

I do not understand, why would this rules be confusing for newcommers?
If a short sentence that says “weapon x is not allowed”, causes confusion in a person reading it, then that person probably has problems turning the pc on, let alone that it should find its way to the competitive TF2 scene.

+1 for ban

Really locks down the game and usually forces the other team to go Natascha heavy

Wait, are you seriously from div4? You should be screaming for all unlocks allowed, not the other way around. Something is wrong.

Uh? Surely the best counter would be a Sasha Heavy or a Sniper.

not sure about natascha.
It is annoying, but nothing compared to FaN, sandman, direct hit etc.
