It really comes down to what feel you want to aim for. If you want something as relaxed as DLAN then aiming for a more open schedule where people have downtime to drink and relax is a higher priority. If you want to make it a more important LAN event or rather one more focused on the game then a close schedule could get a bigger priority.

The double gamemode will work if executed well enough. But with enough planning that should be viable. For the planning there is the requirement of data though so get up there and fill in that form.
