Sheepy doesnt understand that players that are below premiership are also part of the community. He sounds like a upperclass snob to me :)
Of course there are players below prem that are part of the community. No one wants to see them playing though. People want to see players like mike and kaidus and whoever else playing. I’m not arguing for the sake of arguing, i’m trying to explain why making this a highlander lan was a bad idea.

and yet youre not making any statements that were not mentioned in this thread before, which in the end still led to the conclusion of it being a highlander lan anyway, you dont have to agree, and you dont have to keep arguing about it, dont waste your time, go have a tea instead :)
Hello Sheepy,
I think you have the wrong idea to begin with. Apparently you think this LAN is supposed to be the most competitive World Championship for Highlander with loads of money to win and a big publicity effect. Though we have some spots reserved for Premteams and we would love to see as many of them as possible participate, our goal was/is to make this an awesome weekend and exprience for all the players that come there. Sure, in the end we all play to win, but as stated in the orgininal post (which you may or may not read yet) “we want to provide a HL-exclusive LAN to have a nice and chilled weekend at the end of the intense LANsummer.”
Also, you seem to be under the impression that there is a “such a big pricepool”. You mention that very often in your posts. That suprises me, because at this point of time we never mentioned pricemoney and we are not sure if there is gonna be some. (probably, but we are using the money for expenses first.)
I hope I could help rectify these misunderstandings.
PS: I dont mind you posting here, keeps the thread bumped (:

So basically its hardly gonna be a real lan at all and more like a holiday resort for highlander players. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with this but it sounds like it will be pretty boring to watch and nothing special at all. I just think for tf2 it would have been better to use the money for it to be a 6v6 lan where people are actually competing for something.

It is gonna be very special! Or can you name another Highlander or even any TF2 LAN that takes place in such a place? (:
BTW you mentioned before that theres only the summer insomnia for 6v6 players… Ask Huhy how he thinks about that (InfoShow), I am pretty sure there is something called Gamer´s Assembly in France as well. Admittedly, these and the insomnia LANs are not very big, but ours is not huge as well. I might even have forgotten a LAN somewhere in June.

Yeah but the rest of the tournament was amazing. I’m trying to say that this whole highlander tournament probably won’t be very exciting for the viewers. I just want whats best for tf2.

Have you ever thought, that this lan might be for the players and not for the viewers?

I give up. Goodbye.
Alright, in that case imma ask some questions about the thing itself.
– Will there be a way to somewhat ‘formalize’ the teams before it’s time to send the email mentioned in the original post? (mostly thinking of Highlander LAN-teams that can be joined in addition to the normal teams)
– Will ETF2L’s recruitment section support it specifically? It might be tricky for players to sort out normal recruitment from LAN recruitment, and skill requirements might also be a bit trickier for this. On the other hand, a case could be made that joining a LAN team where you don’t know the people already is a bad idea.. but always nice to have options I suppose.
– Is kKaltUu the guy whose windmill, clogs and weed potency I am to insult when getting impatient?

We are accepting normal HL teams, LAN-Teams and Funteams.
Recruiting for this event can be done through this Forum. If you click on “LANs” you will see Huhy did the same thing for InfoShow. Or you can use the respective forums of your country, if you wish to join a team speaking your mothertongue. Since Signups are not open yet, we did not create such threads. But we will

At this point, we do not even know if there will be any livestreaming coverage of this event. If not, we intend to cast STV Demos
Is there gonna be a newspost when signups are opened ?
