Quoted from Monkeh
To say it’s a stupid argument to your point after mentioning Romanian guys in the Romanian mix group STARTED in the newbie mix group says it all, it obviously worked. Both will work with some effort and time being put in.
Where the hell did I say that?
Stop putting words in my mouth damnit. I said that they started in the ROMANIAN DMIX GROUP, and some of them went on to play a few games in the Newbie Mix Group occasionally, but they stopped.
Actually no you didn’t…
“a few of which have played in the newbie mix group for a while, until it died out”
The ‘have played’ suggested past tense. I apologise for my misunderstanding.
Quoted from Ghostface
But a lot of people from the Romanian community have told me that it’s a lot more fun and comfortable for them to play with their own friends and kind rather than others.
What about poor fuckers like me from Ireland? We have like 25 people total. No chance of a mixgroup for the Irish, the newbie mix group would be a perfect place for me to start were I to begin competitive tf2 here and now.

There’s a reason Ireland is part of the UK, you know.
too bad its not :(

No it isn’t. So how about you stop posting stupid posts and post something productive.

Northern Ireland is part of the UK, the Republic of Ireland isn’t. You could’ve specified from which part you are.

Why would I need to? If I’m talking about Ireland and that I’m Irish then clearly I am from the Republic.

Don’t you have pub communities there in Ireland?
It isn’t much smaller than Portugal, you must have some dozens of people who would try it given the opportunity…
Just reach to pubbers of your local communities, “spam” a few times some useful links or matches, help them out with their mistakes or doubts, maybe even create a local league for new players, I’m sure there’s much to be done. Anyway, you speak english as your main language so it’s way easier to start on the newbie mixes than players from other countries.
We’re leaving a bit the main issue discussed here which is the unlocks, but as the unlocks that would also be a great thing to improve and increase the scene

There aren’t really any pub communities either, I only know of one Irish based pub community, and over the last 2 years it’s pretty much died.

maybe that’s why, I don’t know how it is over there but I would imagine most irish players would be scattered around UK pubs if they don’t have a local pub community.
An established local pub community with hundreds of regulars like we have here in Portugal is pretty much half way there to get people into comp. And we don’t even have that big of a scene I think, but it’s pretty good for such a small country
Well my views on the NA mix group, come mostly from the NATF2 forums. They tend to have a great response from both people like pyyyyro and also the newbies, I have a lot of people who have come in from that group on the forums.
Ghostface. Then fucking help, go help organise other communities to do the same the Romanies. This is what I am talking about, people have ideas, then never fucking do anything with them.
Here is the thing. Go help, prem players, go stream, I will do the advertising for you if I really have to. People come help with Newbie Mix, or setup double mixes within pub communities. ETF2L admins, please discuss a newbie cup.
But this time I want someone to help me. Cos everytime i get burnout and the moment I stop giving a shit, everyone else stops. So if you think you can help manage, I would love you long time, etc
