If you mix it up it could be useful in certain situations, just run to resup and change it.
I doubt anyone will use it full-time.
the only situation where i think it could be of any use, is to defend the last point. but then again im pretty convinced that a pyro can still do a much better job at defending against uber. keep in mind that the scout loses almost all of his push abilities without doublejump as he`s not even able to do half of the important jumps anymore.

could be very useful in some situations all depends on how it is exactly implemented, how long it takes until you can fire another ball. whether or not you only have 1 ball.
how it is fired, does it fire in an arc? how far does it go? how fast does the ball go? and so on…
these questions and more can decide if the unlock will be useful or not, so right now all you are doing is speculating, stop that :)
The update seems to be fun.
I guess this baseball will be either a totally useless funny thing people use on public or something really overpowered people will whine about.
However, it has to really really useful if scouts are going to give up their double jump to get this.
A scout who cannot doublejump is a free kill.
I wonder what the updates for the scattergun will be ?
A faster shooting but less effective gun maybe ?
when ur team loses uber advantage, consider the following lineup to defend last point :)
2 pyro+aircompression, 2 scout+sandman, demoman and heavy+natasha
see where im going with this? :P ultimate in area denial technology :x

already imposing limits on things nobody has seen yet is not the way to go in my opinion. should be a great situational weapon. I need the ‘equip’ command back!
I’m sure it will either:
– Be stupidly hard to aim (You might have to stop to fire it, or the initial throw the ball + swing might take a few seconds making it harder to aim).
– Be an insignificant length of time that the opponent is stunned (1 second max) which might not even give a player time to change weapon to kill someone.
– Be more of a comedy thing than an actual weapon.
It sounds like a lot of fun for publics, but if it is actually useful in competitive play, I can’t see it helping the game in any way. Where does a league go if certain unlocks have to be banned while others are allowed? Sounds annoying.
Then again, people assumed the Pyros air blast and the back burner were going to be stupid and destroy competitive games, I mean…. 100% criticals from behind?!?!? wtf? But turns out it wasn’t that bad. This is the same apart from a scout is actually still useful without a double jump, so it does have the potential for dissaster.
Could potentially see a lot of use when defending last on maps like granary. If a scout remains distant there is very little requirement for double jumping if playing with the right mindset, but it all depends on how easy to aim and how long-lasting the effects of it are.
the only realy problem i have with this weapon is that it detracts (imo) from the dark comedy of TF2. It was originally comicly fun fragging (a baseball player taking the face off of a fat russian weilding an overly sized minigun with a sawn off shotgun) now if things continue on this trend the comedy seems to be shifting over to a lighter side. I loved it when it had that dark comedy feeling
first it was life leech(medic), after that we got slowing poison(heavy), and now we got stun(scout), any bets on the next wow skill? I say spies gets rush, rouge overpowered ftw :)
If we had cool down times for the TF2 unlockable items it would be just like it :)
