where’d they go? always lovely when not too personal, I miss reading them at vanillatf2 :C
coverage is all great but at the moment its just fish with his guides / Q&A’s and hildreth with his lower division team inteviews doing something somewhat creative. no disrespect to the people who do the rest, needed as well but rants / opinion columns were great as well, stuff like gonzorreah from cadred except without all the swearing and Gonzo being a megalomaniac!
Sadly done with lower division stuff though I’ll throw up some more interviews in the future.
But yeah those rants stopped, in my opinion much better (thinking back to the horrible bit of writing that Shintaz did for his ‘farewell speech’,) VanillaTF2 should have its standards and I think it is something Torden has done well lately to keep any rants off the website. Besides you can use this forum to rant so long as it doesn’t break any rules. ;)

mm, shintaz post is what I meant about too personal, twas just random
im talking columns w/ opinions. what about the example I used (without its 2 major faults?)
it just sparks up a lot of debate which when done on vanilla is great because of the heavy moderation, im bored of reading 3-4 comments / post with the majority being ‘x to take it’ or ‘gl to x’ or ‘stv?’

would need to go back through vanillatf2 history =c for gonzorreah, go to cadred, it appears weekly. very well done if you ignore Gonzo (he is the author) in the comments (doesnt allow different opinions, etc) and some of the crude(r) humour in the columns themselves. he talks about stuff like the attitudes of people on something, or LAN performances, or some specific event, or he proposes stuff. mostly its well written and has definitely the highest amount of debate on cadred. unluckily 50% of it is insults etc. but its not hard to moderate as vanillatf2 is doing it already, so we could have the goods without the bads =p

I’ll fill the shoes. Just need to speak to some of my contacts, I’ll probably start up a weekly/fortnightly/monthly rant series somewhere on this site.
Hehe yeah, there’s definitely room for some more creative and fun content, we’ve had fun with the image series of Fisshu’s party, or the most handsome at lan poll in the past.
rants are only fun when fakenicking is allowed in the comments :)
