Thank you for your honesty sir. Just for the record, as far as I can recall, I’ve never been accused of admin abuse in any of my previous admin roles.

As for your other points Foxy, the replies to these have been covered before in this thread but I’ll give the abbreviated version:

– It’s great that you’re sponsoring events like DeutschLan but TF2Pickup also sponser stuff without charging money for their lobbies. Why should you be any different to them?

– The survey is a good idea but not well executed. It contains loaded questions and whilst you may have advertised it on other media sites it’s not certain where these responses are coming from right? Even then the survey says only 49% of people would be willing to pay. Certainly judging from this forum thread alone I’d say the figure is even less.

– This has actually not really been addressed so I’ll cover this in a bit more detail. I cannot take away the fact that you guys sink an enormous amount of money and time into this project. But then again you are providing a service and even when that service is charitable it has to be of a sufficient quality for people to actually use it. If admins are abusing their powers and banning people they don’t like then that doesn’t provide a good service. We don’t have this problem with TF2Pickup and I’ve lost track of the number of times a certain member of staff has been complained about on the forums. Donations are fine because they are optional. You are now asking for a fee (however small) to provide a service which is better in certain aspects and most importantly free. I just don’t think that charging money is something that shoud be acceptable to the TF2 community.

– People don’t want to pay TF2C admins/staff money when they don’t trust them. Heck certain people have been banned over nothing so why should they risk paying for a service they may not be able to use in future? I don’t think any of the admins would ever steal money from the company but when you guys have done other things why shouldn’t other people think that a possibility? Honestly a lot of the backlash against you is because of TF2C’s PR.

– Also I know your last point was rhetorical but you are targeting a section of the community (Mostly ETF2L + UGC players) who are already accustomed to TF2Pickup, who already receive the same service you’re offering elsewhere for free. You’re gonna have to come up with a lot of reasons for people to go to your lobby system if it’s gonna cost a penny more than TF2Pickup who I’m told are rolling out a big update on the site as I’m writing this.

Tho i have to say, concerning the money im on sideshows side.
Tf2c is hosted for free for a while now (~2 Years almost iirc ) and now they dont want to pay everything alone, + they invest at least some time doing admin work.

Its your choice whether you want to pay for lobbies or not, but even if all the money goes right into masternoobs pocket the time and money they spent already is still gonna be more.

there is a big differnce between giving money to a trusted and mature source, and giving it to the tf2c staff.
I don’t know how old they are but they are surely coming out as very childish in terms of not being able to win an arguement without giving people a “timeout”.
yes it’s their service and they have the right to do so.
but don’t expect anyone to take them seriously or even pay them money.
I would also like to see the amount of people that would pay for advanced lobbies that are allowed to play them.
I am mostly talking about mid+ players who by now surely use/d tf2pickup, play double mixes or prefer to only play pcws.
it won’t be near 50% imo.

Basicaly most people here ain’t gonna pay to play tf2center instead of tf2pickup that is free (lmao can’t express how the diference skill wise between pickup and tf2center is), and even though tf2pickup takes its sweet ass time to fill up, I’d rather wait and play a good 6s match, or at least a more skilled one, than some random n00b4s rated from tf2playerrankings.
And lets be honest, sometimes tf2pickup doesn’t take that long to start.

1) Advanced lobbies are NOT meant purely for Harcore Competitive players or for Mid+ players, it focuses more on Tf2Center community rather than ETF2L or UGC. So therefore all the Tf2C regulars who are not part of “Elite” Tf2 Comp. community can play with their own “Elite” Tf2Center. In other words, it is more focused on Tf2Center “pros” rather than the real competitive community. At least that’s how I perceive it.

2) People keep saying that amount of players that can play judging by tf2playerrankings should be decreased from 20% to 5-10%, that is wrong in many ways, if you decrease it that low, there won’t be many players playing Advanced lobbies, since people are already bitching about Adv. Lobbies and expressing their unwillingness to pay and play,.I am pretty sure that the majority of our community will stick to Tf2Pickup, meanwhile Tf2Center’s advanced lobbies can enjoy their 20% of top Tf2playerrankings players playing lobbies.

3) “And lets be honest, sometimes tf2pickup doesn’t take that long to start.”. The Player base of Tf2Pickup is not that big tho. Also Tf2Pickup doesn’t offer multiple Lobby system and Flexible map pool. I’m not saying the current system is broken, I’m fine with how Tf2Pickup works, I’m just saying that Tf2Center is more flexible in terms of Map choices (playing same maps again) and having multiple lobbies open, in case for example all Scout spots get taken and players don’t want to play other classes, so they just join other lobby.

I do understand if you personally would have said – I won’t pay TF2C a penny. It’s okay, that’s your choice. But I’m really curious why you and some other people here speak on behalf of whole TF2 community, which obviously consists not only of EU players, ETF2L league and relatively small TF2Pickup group?

Did you make a research? Do you know every TF2 player personally and talked with all of them? Do you have any data at hands to prove your point?

And I guess this kinda says it all really, with this sort of person in charge I wouldn’t wanna give money to tf2c personally, I’ve donated atleast twice to serveme cause they offer a amazing service to me and the teams I play for while tf2c just contains people like you tereza that cannot take criticism and legit concerns without getting snarky and biting back with personal responces ontop of closing other people’s lobbies for your own lobby’s sake lol (the oxy ban right?).
