Quoted from Swarlz
also it’s totally doable for just over £13000 for 12 players. That’s after 5minutes in google.

We want to raise significant amounts of cash…12767.32 pound

It took you 5 minutes to roughly calculate the exchange rate?
Grats bro!
Hows it my fault I’m retarded. back off faggots
So we are paying for accommodation ? Or is this fund just for flights?
If this is purely for flights i may chip in. But anything more is unfair imo.

i don’t think you would want to camp after a 10 hour flight and a messed up sleeping schedule due to the time difference

But i have and would. After that much traveling, anything is good to sleep on.
Be there seems to be quite a lot of apprehension towards donating which is something I should have forseen and provided a more detailed cost analysis. Mind you that the 20k total is for two teams to go. Any excess funding will be put towards international benifits for tf2 (maybe prize pots for i46, but that is a conversation I need to have with some of our major investors and extine).
All money raised in this event is going directly toward the following items. Plane tickets for the team, accommodations for the team (they aren’t staying in luxury, current plans are for the uni accomodations or the premiere inn, which is of comparable cost). No funding of any sort is going to meals, booze, first class airfare or anything like that. The teams have a job to do: play well, give good entertainment and interviews for a documentary project that we are planning on producing about the event.
I am at work so don’t have my numbers or spreadsheets with me, but I will post more information this evening during the euros.
Thanks to everyone who has donated. If anyone has more specific questions or concerns regarding this, I can be contacted at [email protected] and will be checking this thread frequently.
I’ve stayed at the premiere inn both i45 and i43, I can vouch for it being pretty decent. :)
Bit of a walk though.
Most hotels are booked up as far as i know and i doubt they intend on staying in a 150 a night hotel each. (again Shadow can give info on this).
I’ve suggested the Uni accomodation to them as its very cheap but still got everything you need, camping is a bridge to far tbh if they are all jet lagged and have big suitcases with all their stuff i really doubt they’ll be staying in 2 man tent each ;).
EDIT: Ah ha! Shadow has posted above.

You should speak with Extine or Shadowpuppet directly about this, i wouldn’t put their name on this without their approval, it can cause confusion or duplication of efforts. If they approve though crack on with it and try to help out in anyway you can.

Agreed on the point of hotels. Tbh, the ones we stay at when we go to esea lan aren’t that expensive and teams are expected to double up. With that in mind and the fact that the uni accommodations are single only, it is actually about 10 pounds cheaper a person to just room them in the premiere inn.
Also, on the issue of teams contributing, pure has been organising several bigger donors to contribute significant funds and the expectation (though not promised) is that teams will be contributing a portion of their lan winnings to the fund. That is why our goal is so high, we actually have more money than the chip in indicates right now, we just need all your help filling in the gaps
