to be honest I played a lot in the old pug and didn’t have much balance troubles – perhaps a PUG out of four, five, it happened, and it was especially rare past midnight. Although it was an issue and still is, it’s was not, for me atleast, as big as you put it.

the main problem of course was the server issue, but what killed the fun for me previously was seeing much better players than me behaving (and indeed they did own it) like they owned the channel – punishments were different for them than others, they got away with what other people didn’t, their sole opinion mattered more than an entire PUG saying he broke the rules. I see your point though – if you actually only broke one rule, then you should have a warning only, not a (is it?) permanent ban for it, even if you did fuck the next pug up for the other team by going engie, but w/e, that wasn’t banned at the time.
you have to understand whoever banned you though, after all there is a ‘be nice’ rule (as vague as it is) so either get a sub if you don’t want to play in an obviously unbalanced PUG

So it would be unwise banning people because they were in a team that beat another team even while running an engi? Because the pug itself doesn’t have any methods implemented to stop such a thing from happening yet? Hell we won using medic, demo , 2 pyro, sniper and an engi. And I’ve always stated at the start of the round that I would switch to soldier if things didn’t work out. See basically my team agreed, but the enemy got butt hurt because they lost.

And besides, these pugs were going on at 2am-ish.

You need to have an account on quakenet. Name and pass. You cant use an irc webclient.

But you can not auto-auth with webchat.
I recommend mIRC, it’s probably the most user friendly IRC client.
