Recruitment

Medic  Open Skill, Highlander

Netherlands Antiparticle

Posted: | Last Online:

With the ever deteriorating state of pubs I thought this might be a good time to try to get back into competitive again. A bit about me: I've played Medic for almost 900 hours now, I've played about a thousand Lobbies mostly as Medic and I was briefly in a div 6 and in a div 5 team a few years back. (Those were 6s teams but this time I'd like to try Highlander.) So I have a lot of experience, though most of that was not in a true competitive environment, so that's why I'm looking for a low level team for now.

One other thing I should mention is that I'm a somewhat older gamer (25+) and that's relevant for this in two ways. First of all I have a fulltime job which means I can generally only play in the evenings between 19:00 and 22:00 and in weekends. Secondly I don't think I'd fit in very well with a group of mostly 15 year olds, I'd prefer to find a team with at least a few people in their twenties or something.

Last but not least, I'd like a team where people stay positive not just when they're winning but also when they're losing. If I wanna get yelled at for making mistakes I'll go back to Lobbies.

If you're looking for a Medic and you think I might be a good fit for your team, feel free to add me on Steam to discuss it further.

I’ve played with Antiparticle on pubs and lobbies for a few years. He knows how highlander works so he’s a great pick for any Open or Steel team looking for a MAIN Medic.

friendly and mature guy who knows the nuts and bolts of HL medic. also the person on my friends list with the most medic unusuals. for both of these reasons: very much recommended to any team in open.

One of the few medics I have encountered on pubs that knows his stuff :)
    Should be an easy pick.

You are not old at all the way.
I was about 5 year older than you when TF2 was released…
But I know what you mean. It doesn’t feel that one fits very well in a group of 15 year olds.
Would be really interesting to find more people like us who is older, have full time jobs, but still want to play TF2 seriously.

Slightly off topic, but I do remember Antiparticle from pubs back in the day.

Iller, I’m now 40, thank god the wife allows me a couple of hours of video games a night.

I no longer have the reactions to play a shooting class so like many others now play medic.

TF2 is fun way to wind down after work, when I stop enjoying it, I’ll stop playing it.

H…, I will also be 40 next year.
I have no wife that might stop me though, so I can play as much as I want. Don’t think I will ever get completely tired of TF2, unless TF3 or something is released.

I don’t think slower reaction times are that much of a problem yet. Sure some sorts of simpler reaction times like pressing a button when it changes color or so might get a bit slower with age, but more complex reactions like anticipating movements and trajectories and such I actually think might get a bit better with more experience.

ok, that was a bit off topic. I’m sure Antiparticle is not too old for what he is looking for at least :)
