(April Fools) Announcing The ETF2L Mann vs Machine Cup!

For the first time ever in ETF2L history, we are very happy to finally announce our very first Mann vs Machine cup! We’ve been working on this for a long while now, but it took us a while to finally get things up & running. But it’s finally here! and we invite all of you to participate in this cup! Keep reading below to see more details regarding this cup, how you can signup, rules, prizes & more!
How does it work?
This Mann vs Machine cup will be a speedrun cup, where 6 people will come together to try and beat some of Valve’s Mann vs Machine missions in the fastest time possible. The top 3 teams with the fastest combined times will win a prize for each player who participated, you can find the prizes for the top 3 teams further down in this post. Some strategies for faster times can include buying a 2way teleporter from wave 1 onwards, instantly pressing F4 at the end of a wave, or perhaps stacking 4 heavies with crit canteens next to a dispenser! Whatever strategies teams use is up to their discretion, but there will be some enforced rules in this cup to ensure that each time is set fair and square.
Rules
The rules for this cup are simple:
- Gas Passer is Banned.
- No Cheating. (e.g Aimbot, Triggerbot, ESP etc.)
- No Credit Exploiting.
- Ghost Upgrades Are Not Allowed. (e.g Firing Speed for the Soda Popper)
Anyone caught breaking these rules will be disqualified from the cup with immediate effect.
Missions
The Maps & Missions you will be speedrunning against eachother are:
- mvm_mannhattan – Empire Escalation (Advanced)
- mvm_rottenburg – Bavarian Botbash (Advanced)
- mvm_bigrock – Broken Parts (Advanced)
- mvm_decoy – Disintegration (Advanced)
- mvm_coaltown – Ctrl+Alt+Destruction (Advanced)
- mvm_mannworks – Mannslaughter (Expert)
How to submit your times
To submit your times, make a League Admin Ticket in our discord and submit the following:
- The STV Demo of the match
- A link to your ETF2L team page
- The Map/Mission the speedrun was completed on aswell as the time
- ETF2L Profiles of all participants
If an admin has any suspicions of cheating, then demos can be requested at any time throughout the cup until it has ended. Failure to provide a requested demo will end in a 3 minute time penalty per demo failed to be provided. Time penalties can be reverted if demos are provided before the cup has ended.
Prizes & Medals
Yes, you heard that right, there are PRIZES on offer for the Top 3 teams with the fastest combined times!
Do keep in mind however that you must complete All the missions and have submitted times for them to be eligible for the top 3 team prizes. Teams who do not complete & submit times for each mission will instead receive a participation medal.
Those who do place in the top 3 will receive the following prizes:
1st Place Medals & x6 Strange Battery Canteens
2nd Place Medals & x6 Robots Destroyed Parts
3rd Place Medals & x6 Gold Botkiller MK.I Weapons (Weapons decided via Admin Discretion.)
