Highlander Nations Cup #5 Playoffs

The groups have been played and we’re left with a final ongoing tiebreaker. In the meantime lets get onto the bracket. It’ll be a bit of a tight schedule so we encourage the teams to actively work on their schedules.

We’re also adding in that in the case your Nations Cup match is getting casted you’ll have to use your ETF2L registered username. This mainly to make it easier for the casters and viewers.

Players who play in casted matches must use their real nicknames
All players who play in a casted match must play with their ETF2L nickname. Team tags are allowed but the nickname must be the same as the nickname on ETF2L, letter for letter. The nickname should be easily recognizable at a glance. Each incorrect nickname will warrant a punishment.

Brackets don’t seem that fair to me. The following system is better imo:

As you can see it takes into account the high seed group as well as the amount of points each playoff team accumulated and whether they were 1st or 2nd in the group.

Your bracket doesnt work on the basis alone that 2 teams from the same group, not including the high seed group, can meet each other before the final. Its one of the most basic parts of round robin into single elim. The points you got during the group stage isnt really relevant as its so dependent on what other teams you had in your group.
These matches are so unfair lmao, literally no point in us having played a tiebreaker if we’re instantly getting knocked off the playoffs by a high seed team, thank you very much :)

@TimTum, I was told NL was defaulting their matches, that appeared to be wrong information.
@Aoshi, you are totally correct about how a multi-stage round-robin->single elimination tournament system works. But you also have a high seeded group meaning you can’t really use a standard knockout stage practice of matching 1st place vs 2nd place here.
The system I’m suggesting isn’t that good either but given the circumstances I would use it instead because that way Round of 16 won’t include match-ups between potentially semi-final worthy of teams.
Please make this (or a variation of it) an actual rule for every official game and non Nations Cup matches.
