Admin search
We are in need of some new admins again after we recently had some changes in our staff. As an admin you’ll help us with the day-to-day operations that come with running the competitions, as well as think with us about everything concerning the ETF2L. Everyone who is interested in helping out on the biggest TF2 league worldwide is invited to write an application to [email protected]. The following information should be inserted to your application:
- ETF2L nickname
- Real name
- Age (at least 18)
- Tf2 team (if any)
- Spoken languages (average English required)
- Any past general admin experience.
- Motivation: why do you want to join our team?
- Feel free to add anything else that might be helpful, or any questions you may have.
We are especially interested in people who can fulfill one or more of these special criteria (still other interested people also having good chances):
- PHP coder(s) with experience (to work on the website)
- Player(s) from a top team
- Cheating admin(s) with experience
- Players from Finland, France, Sweden or Russia

Cheating Issue – 1 year ban to K1ck.Payard
Oh yeah, another cheater guy! This time we have no other choice then banning Payard [Profile] from K1ck for 1 year because of using an aimbot in several matches. Some guys should start thinking and stop using illegal tools or they will be caught and banned soon aswell.
Season 4, Week 9: Default Dates
Due to the amount of unscheduled matches we decided to postpone tonight’s schedule deadline for 48 hours to Tuesday, 17th March, 23:59 CET. All unscheduled matches are listed below. Please get in contact and try to schedule your match to a fitting date until 31st March. All regular Season 4 matches will have to be entered by 31st March, 23:59 CET. No later dates are possible.

Tonight, Payard did 2 good wars, some other players watched to him and don’t see anything special ! So, what is the pb ? Some noobs watched him on some other good wars, reported him for some hazardous reasons, and after a few homemade fragmovies from your own, you decided to ban him, with speaking with him first, or even us ???
I really really don’t understand how you work guys.
Just show us and stop telling some stupid stuff like if u show it us in private, some other players will “know how to cheat”… it makes me laugh dudes, really.
All we want is proof, explanation. And I don’t think it’s too much to ask u this. Or maybe I really don’t understand what are admins for here.

Oh, and personally i think Tsu’s request is pretty reasonable.
Now, i’m normally a nice enough guy, but if you’d ban one of my teams players, and when i would ask for more details you’d say, “we don’t do that”, then i would be pissed. I can’t speak for every team, but generally, the players in my team are persons i know, love and trust. So if someone comes to me to tell about any one of my team memers cheating, i would NEVER believe that. Not without evidence that is.
Now, not wanting to tell everyone exactly what he did is understandable, but denying that to his team mates is pretty harsh. I never get mad, but if you want to see me mad, you gotto do just that.

No serious league releases hard evidence for the public if a player cheats. It’s not done and I don’t think the anti cheat admin just go around and randomly ban people for no reason. So I don’t see what you guys are complaining about.

We need proof, it’s simple.
This situation makes me feel like death penalty without 100% proof guys, judged by “almighty gods”. There was a lot of known mistakes in history, so stop judge him without giving us proof PLEASE.
Everyone can spec some high players for 3 months and take all hazardous shoot in one homemade fragmovie and give it to admins.

i played also a lot together with payard and i would also be interested to see the evidence. But in first case, his own clan kick should have at least the right to see the evidence.
Now someone got accused and punished for cheating and we have to believe etf2l admins on their word that its true.

I think etf2l isnt making itself popular with this decision to keep the evidence for themself. Looks a bit like Orwell’s big brother ;)
I can see people’s points about seeing evidence, but to answer just one point, what has cheat detection got to do with whether the player is ‘known’ or not?
However I can appreciate that there will be more to cheat detection than is advisable the community at large knows about. If it’s not revealed how the admins detect cheats, then it’s much harder for people to work out how to stop their cheats from being detected.
However I would think a good compromise would be to say.. ‘this is the demo we can see the cheats in but as to how we see that or our specific proof, we aren’t going to tell you’.
First of all, we would show anyone how things like that are beeing spotted – which makes it easy for others to just avoid similar things (and get away with it).
We ofc explain it to the teams if asked, but since we cant really be certain that evidence is kept confidential, we just wont give out any demos, vids etc to “non league admins” (Ofc we work together with other league admins who request the stuff we got).
Our AC team is composed of players from all divisions and we dont ban without a reason or evidence (or if someone got doubts about it).

There should be a clear rule about what happens to the matches a cheater has played in.
Because atm clans are receiving different punishments.
It seems like iCon is getting all of their matches payard played in defaulted.
While some time ago other teams got only 1 map in each match defaulted.

Releasing the evidence publically is a double edged sword :-
Pros
– backs up the admins decision
– keeps friends of said person “happy”
– perhaps avoids the pm abuse and silly comments such as “you ban him with no proof!” taken fro
several comments last night.
– allows the community to see we do not ban people for the lols and actually attempt to get as much evidence as possible before casting an opinion.
Cons
– shows certain methods of catching cheaters without the use of an anti cheat
– IF a small amount of people disagree – flame war.
– unproffessional
Those are just a few but I thought i’d share our thought process on the decisions on evidence. May I add that we spend more time trying to make the evidence not guilty than we do guilty. Several admins check each peice of evidence and discuss several parts of it and finally if we found any personal link between the admin and the accused, the admin is not permitted to comment.

Sorry to embarress you but cic is the team with the one map defaults as the cheat only played those maps. Icon received the same but have since requested defaults on the rest of thier matches.
Not that it matters (my point was that there should be a clear rule about it) but I based the cic thing on the explanation at the news post that time.

yep, and thx by the way that made me get out of teams for a while, have to say that spending 4 month working hard with the team to get the higher we could then going down to zero points was a so nice surprise for me and other guys in the team. That’s all, you do your job and i can’t go in counter of it, but that was a real deception for me.
if Payard decides to play a high risk game (i.e. cheat) with your team, it’s not the enemy team that should get punishment if his fraud gets uncovered. Hard for your team indeed, but what’s your opinion to deal with cheaters and their former teams? Hence, I’m for 2 years ban, including acc. change.
Bun it’s very harsh on icon now, however it’s even more so on the teams that lost due payard. You should be angry at him for decieving you.
i’m okey, that’s the right issue. Did i say i don’t understand that way? No, i just wanted to tell my feelings about it, and evitate so many question in steamfriends.
Maybe icon should have the chance to replay the defaulted games, unless the opponents are sure that payard was the difference between winning and losing or there is some evidence the clan knew what he was up to.
I just wanted to write the same als Shrapnel. Give iCon the chance to replay the matches. 6 matches, should not be that hard to get replayed untill the season is over. Punishing the the hole team for 1 bastard cheating doesn’t seem to be the best way.
the problem is that right now it seems like a ‘word vs word’ unless he fully admits. not that i beleieve ofc that admins would lie and ban someone for no reason,but when ur not saying how why and when he cheats.
i remember they caught a cheater in starcraft [4 diffrent sites helped] and published all they did and how. if you got him,you will be able to get others who might try to use the same or close to the vile and dirty methonds used by payard

I think we wont replay our matches , we ve got a new line up now not even full , bun left cos he was pissed , we’ll just drop from etf2l (if we stay alive) and just rebuild the team properly.

Like Sabin said , there’s no point discussing it. I deserve this ban, it seems that i lost the sense of this game. At the beginning i wasn’t a cheater and was raging on every cheater who crossed my road. But one day, i wanna try a cheat just to see how it works, but then i lost my way, i became step by step a cheater, it was… like a drug, and that’s just sad and pathetic. i’m not a cheater since a long time, but if you don’t trust me i can’t blame you. there is at least a good thing in this story, i know now what is really important in my life, and it’s not tf2;during this last months i became a no life. This ban is finally a gain. Thanks.
