    Forbidden script @ abom? What kind of script has he been using?

  3. dunc: infs - dp. said:

    It’s just a mousewheel up attack thing IIRC. Not relevant as he doesn’t play scout, but still banned. He’s clean as sol :p

    Excellently done! The wotr^2 faker thing was done in a match against my clan. Was shocking that they had the audacity. Well done admins :D

  7. Darn: rockit like said:

    have they even played in etf2l in the last month ?

  8. daf: yoyotech - Hey dats! said:

    Masiina used a pistol script and puschen used a spy backstab script iirc

    only a warning for using a faker? lolled.

  10. ShitFly: Paracoccidioido said:

    well the faker did received 3 matchbans wich isnt nothing tbh ^^

  11. foil: 8{ said:

    and you can’t really give a team matchbans as other teams who’ll get the default win, will have an advantage over people who didn’t get the default win on them.

  12. RobbaZ: [FADER] said:

    Who’s the faker?

  13. RobbaZ: [FADER] said:

    rofl what a joke , i can name like 5 scouts in D1 who use the gunscript , why they are not warned ?

  16. Agron: Relic said:

    gogo mick, name them! we want drama!

  17. Mick- said:

    rofl , everyone know who they are , but i dont blame them to use it , since ETF2L dont use any kind of anticheat , i would do the same if i was a scout. and they can always say than they are using the mousewheel anyway …

  18. Stealthy: wizzo said:

    i dont know why people dont just use a normal none editted config with no alias for tfc it was understandable but for this game seriously what else do you need apart from basic binds and maybe some rate and interp changes.

  19. EpsyLon: Gallia said:

    Useless league dunno why we don’t leave it…
    You can watch my aequitas files of the game against pandemic i used a duck+jump
    Ban me day ban me plz :p

  20. Stealthy: wizzo said:

    i cant believe they have banned mwheeldown as jump- this was the only thing i used and now dont use it anymore because apparently binding a key through options is banned in season 3 :/ mmm, and i only used it from tfc as preference. Soon we will not be able to change our default keysets and video settings.

    This type of decisions and rules are always tough. In many sports there is the balance between manual skill and automatic enhancement, but a line has to be drawn somewhere. Imho i think less automatization gives better skill, but indeed it is a grayscale. How much of top players skills are dependent on the scritps?

  22. pEx: rhs said:

    low details 800×600 xD

  23. xman said:

    forgive me if I am wrong but before the rule change you could use a merc and even so it was apparently a FUN cup!!!!
    Also I agree with Stealthy if you can bind mousewheel down in your game options how can that be bannable

  24. miikka: [MIPC] - [MIPC] said:

    lol epsylon duck+jump is allowed. :<

  25. matji: T2P - TWIN said:

    BIND MWHEELUP “+attack”
    BIND MWHEELDOWN “+attack”

    7. 1-Day-Cups (tba)

    Nice.
    Banning someone for mercing in a 1 day fun cup rather over the top.

    @Evil

    Quote from general rules:

    1.7.2 Only correct entered players are allowed to play

    You are only allowed to use players who have correctly entered their Steam ID and are on your teams’ roster. All other used players will distinguish as ringer.

  29. DeNeusbeer: (Legend) - HoT<3 said:

    It is not so much someone mercing that we give out this ban.
    It is the fact that he pretended to be someone else, by taking on the exact nick of a player of wotr2.
    Mercing, we’ve been very lenient on that in the past, however pretending to be someone else by taking on his exact nickname, and then play a match as if you’re that guy, is just way out of line.

    Not to flame too much, disregarding the warnings shown for 4k plan-b and wotr peeps, i wish there were admins who knew how the game works and plays rather than just be a commoner admin.

    Some rules you need to sort out yet you can’t even see which ones to sort out, cause you don’t even play the game at a level to satisfy all the divisions in the league. There are some admins like shifty/wlv/drg and maybe 1 other i’ve missed out i know have some common TF2 sense. But as they are not in power as much as the “other” admins without mentioning names its a pity, because it’s like the ED league where Maverick Noobsh*te is the head admin of ED yet he knows f all about TF2 and it’s a shame cause it could do well. With this league not as severe as ED thankfully its still shocking how some of the rules that should be modified/created are not in yet.

    Tiz a shame…

  31. miikka: [MIPC] - [MIPC] said:

    Just out of curiosity: could you, Byte, please point out the flaws in the rules? :/

    Way too much flame towards the admins from some players imo…

  32. ant: jizzed in his p said:

    Why do you really need to use scripts? :\

    Just play the game for what it is, exactly the same as everyone else.

  33. waebi: ‹Con› said:

    scripts are 1337 :P

  34. hatE: YOYO\' said:

    Take your punishment ! Rules are indeed meant to be broken in some aspects, but if you get caught, dont whine about the bans.

    Just cause i love to see ppl bite the dust i got to cheer on the admins.

    Yay.

  35. Wlv: RaWr :: said:

    Thanks Byte, I think.

    IMO (not etf2l official) mousewheel bound to +attack is debate-able :P

    Anticheat is a tough one, I’d personally like ETF2L to use one, but the league is about trying to be accessable and easy for players to use as possible, as it stands, SGLac, Aequitas, X-Ray are all shit, buggy and dont pick up on all possible hacks – and can be manipulated.

    @Mick I’m sure you can, but untill they’re caught there is nothing we can do.

    Puschen used a spy script which removed the “slow” animation of back stabbing.

    Angora was punished, not entirely for mercing, but for making out he was someone else, its a shame as hes a great guy, all he had to do with ask.

    There are no arguing points for any of the above statements, nor are there any for the reasons as to why people have been warned / “punished”.

    For the record Byte, if it was my choice, the script stuff (especially fastfire) would have had harsher punishment and I do backup the majority – if not all of the rules ETF2L runs by. However we are always interested and thinking of how to update our rules and “fix” older ones, it’s something I’ll invest some time in to over the coming bank holiday, if you have any ideas, give us a shout.

  36. daf: yoyotech - Hey dats! said:

    Uh did binding +jump to mwheeldown really get banned? I use that… not for any other reason but I used it in TFC. Why is it banned?

  37. Player Thirty-Two: yoyotech - jewz said:

    Personally, I believe binding the mouse wheel to anything else but jumping should be banned. If you want to shoot a pistol or detonate a sticky bomb, just click the bloody mouse. It’s possible to get to the same speeds manually, so why use a script?

  38. appz: wMiC? said:

    why not implement drug testing, why not go the full way + have an admin come to your house + stand over you and watch you play during officials then after youve played pee into a cup to take back to etf2l forensic testing lab to check for doping, or why not just get some people who know what theyre doing running the show

  39. tramsig: -><- said:

    Why do some get so excited? Are they afraid of getting caught? Stop cheating then and sleep better ;)

  40. beta: RaWr :: said:

    I think I also agree with Stealthy that to punish MWHEELDOWN +jump/attack is a hard one and as Wlv said it is debate-able. And before people jump on the band wagon, no I do not use mwheeldown for jump or attack.

    I would like to see harsher punishments on script users – especially the more obvious pistol scripts of course and demo fire scripts. Along the lines of that, they should also always be named and shamed, the best approach for everything.

  41. mihalch: [LOL] - [LOL] said:

    As far as i know – there are same problems in CS sciene (according to mouse wheel bindings). Valve engine was allways sucky, got huge amount of bugs and leeches. People who interested in “clear” gaming – always thinkig that they can do to fix all those shit. So for me – the work admin of this league doing – r really great.

    +1 to Wlv.

  42. Moirae said:

    Are rj scripts banned too?

  43. mvp.: marco - ¤_¤ said:

    no, duckjump and rj is not forbidden

    Come back to NS, Masiina.
    You can pistol script all you want in ENSL :D

  45. erba_knoff: _ said:

    The stupid thing is that the player get a harder punishment then the team. In the end it’s always the teams call to use a ringer. Even so he used another players nick etc the team knew about it, they are responsible.

    Looking at how wotr2 was punished makes me laugh. By simply getting a warning you get away real easy.
    Think if this was a situation where a team was in a grand final (or in an important game in any way), if you only get a warning the first time you could just get the best possible player to play for you in that game. As a team you dont really suffer from a player of your own getting banned.

    (Remember this exact situation happening in TFC VTFCL, player gets punished but clan got nothing and got 3 points for the win where the player was an imporant factor in them winning, idiot admins tbh. On top of that, the player that merced was a member of the admins clan, he ended up with a timeban on 1 week, surprisingly a week where admins clan had a bye. Funny eh TheNiggy(admin) was fucking stupid.)

    Anyways, to sum up team should get a default loss/”points taken from them” even if its their first time using a ringer. To punish the player harder then the team just seems to strike so wrong to me, as I said in the end its always the teams call. The opposing team doesnt really gain anything from a player (thats possibly not even in their division) gets a ban. While the team using a merc can win the match by using him in the first place.

    I have mouse button 4 , the one on the side of my mouse bound to call for medic
    Am i not allowed to use that?

  48. Wlv: RaWr :: said:

    AppZ, apparently the ESL International Series (the one with LAN Finals) forbid playing under the influence, unfortunately if we enforced a similar rule we’d wave goodbye to most of the community :P :P :P

    @Erba, it was a one night cup and was caught out after the cup had finnished, baring this fact in mind I think it would be a little over the top to punish wotr2 in ETF2L Season 3. However, should a similar event arise, trust me when I say the team will be punished as much as the player.

  49. appz: wMiC? said:

    u could drug test me these days wlv + itd come up squeeky clean :D

  50. waebi: ‹Con› said:

    i am naturally high :P dont need drugs.

    Maybe it’s because the Medigun backpack is leaking on me that i am ZE UBERMENSCH :D

    also, mouse4 and 5 are needed for sure, and you cant click them as fast as mousewheeldown/up i guess.

  51. Wlv: RaWr :: said:

    Ok AppZ, I’ll need to take a sample of the tissue at the base of your spine, care to oblige? :D

  52. notger: dp. - dp. said:

    Frankly, I do not understand, why some people and their affiliates flame/bitch around. You did not comply to the rules and are punished for that. You should rather say “sorry, I will not break the rules again” instead of “you shitty admins ain’t worth nothin”.
    Do you think you have the right to play by your own rules? Is that your type of sportsmanship?

    So drop the matter, play fair and enjoy the game.
