Hey guys! Its been a while since I last posted here, but I’ve been working on something for the past two years, and I can finally share some more with the public. Since i got my roots in the TF2 scene, I figured you guys deserved a bit of an early look at the site.
anyhow, I’ve been working on a project called weav, a new site for streaming: http://www.weav.tv/
we’re on the cusp of going public; we can finally talk about it and we’re accepting sign ups (see last page of link) too!
I read the website and it’s very vague. What exactly are you offering that twitch can’t?
Looks interesting, the pause, rewind, forward etc commands sound really good. Hopefully it’ll run smoothly.
EDIT: Signed up, but I probably failed and chose “I’m CHERRY” as my nickname rip

Sadly we can’t be quite too public with all of the ideas we’re implementing, but one of the bigger things you’ll notice off the cuff will be the live DVR capabilities (that would be the third slide). Hope that makes you a bit more excited!

It’s like Twitch an TiVo made into one!
Cherry, don’t worry about it. You’ve not locked yourself into one user name on the site. At this stage we are just looking for levels of interest and to reward the guys who were willing to stand up and be counted right from the very start.
When it comes to features we’d like to know what you think is missing from your streaming lives, what isn’t being fulfilled by anyone right now? A lot of the things we are most proud of (and most eager to share, at the right point) came from asking ourselves the same question.
By the way, because its been found @facepunch and teamfortress.tv, here is our subreddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/weav
for now we’re going to treat it as an idea/suggestion box :) so feel free to post there
I’ve just seen http://www.weav.tv/ has been updated!

Our site is open for streaming, and we also just launched our blog: http://blog.weav.tv/2015/05/31/skip-this-message-in-30-seconds/
It’s promising to be though.
At the moment, its not better than twitch. Its just been launched, a lot of the stuff that would eventually make us better (such as DVR capabilities, discoverability features, etcetera) is still in development.
But we do need to start getting users on the site so that we can get some really good feedback and improve our site more.
Weav been working on the site for close to three years now, and it gets hard to be objective at that point. You sometimes need someone outside of your team to go: “well, this thing is not really done well, why is it like this and not like this?” and then we can go: “well yeah, we didn’t think about that, that’s really logical and should have been like that from the get-go.
feedback at this stage is much much easier to implement when the entire look of the site is still in development and we haven’t gotten all the art finalized.
