After wrapping Season 16 up and crowning European Epsilon eSports champions once again, we are happy to announce our next 6v6 Season. All the information regarding the coming Season can either be found in this newspost, or will be announced in the future! Stay tuned!

Publishing of Final Divisions: January 18
Schedule Week: January 19 – 25
Main Season: January 26 – March 15
Catch-up Week: March 16 – March 22
Playoffs: March 23 – April 12

Please note that Playoff dates are subject to change due to tiebreakers and other unforeseen circumstances.

You can still sign up your team after January 16. Teams signing up later than January 16 will be placed on the waiting list and have a very high chance of replacing dead or dropping teams during the first two play weeks.

Sign-up process

Make sure to choose your desired division when signing up. If you created a new team or feel you can jump a division, feel free to apply for the division you believe you deserve you should be in. To prove you are capable of the division you applied for, we require you to submit screenshots of results from your recent practice matches or tournaments where you scored decent results against teams that play on the level you aim for. The quantity is not the most important factor in this case, it’s more of a helpful measure for us to figure out if your team will be able to keep up with the pace. There is no magical, minimum or maximum number of screenshots that you have to submit.

Please note that the success of your request also strongly depends on the free slots in the division you aim for. Established teams will be favoured over new teams or teams that request to jump a division. The screenshots have to be uploaded to an online image storage service (for example, you can use imgur or Dropbox). Keep in mind that if you opt for a zipped archives with tons of pictures attached to an e-mail, your application will be ignored. Keep it clean.

If you are applying for Division 6 (which is our entry division), you do not have to provide any proof that you are capable of playing at that level. This only applies to Division 5 or higher.

Please send your application to [email protected]. The division assignment request has to include the following information in order to be considered. Incomplete applications will be ignored!

    • Do not use HTML in your e-mail. If you want to add a link, just paste the link in the e-mail as you would enter it in your browser.

    • Reasons why your team deserves to be placed in the division you applied for (optional)

Maps

We removed metalworks due to some poor feedback, and general dislike of the map. We replaced it with koth_coalplant_b6, which some of you might be familiar with and has some good feedback. No other changes to note.

We have added some more unlocks we feel can add to the game without breaking it. This is a provisional list and can be subject to change.

    Granary has it’s own obvious flaws, mainly the fact that’s it boring, stale and massively bland. You already have badlands filling up the spot of “mandatory oldskool map”…

    Coalplant sounds interesting, it does look like a proper 6v6 map unlike viaduct.

    Frankly if heavies became a big thing in 6v6 due to the GRU or Disciplinary Action, I think you’d see more people leave than join. Heavies slow the game down and make it very boring to play. The only counter to a heavy with that much mobility is to run one yourself and then you’re stuck in a horrible meta imo. DEFINITELY not a fan of having heavy as a viable full time option.

    I’m disappointed that prem didn’t like metalworks; at a time when there aren’t enough good maps to add more than 1 per season it’s a pity that a decent (imo) map is being removed after only one season’s play.

    Unlocks are ok this season, nice additions. I’m concerned/looking forward to seeing how the Buff Banner and Conch play out, but the others are good choices.

    Citations needed. I find it hard to believe that Metalworks was a standout candidate in any of the garbage forum threads you no doubt used as your basis for this decision. People are showing a “general dislike” for Granary and Snakewater too… where was the public vote?

    Also can you please clarify the situation for Premiership and Division 1 pre-season playoffs. I don’t see it mentioned in the schedule, thought a 2 week signup period is promising.

    Previous seasons have shown that public votes allow poor maps in the map pool because lower div players voted for the likes of Freight and Obscure when they didn’t know or understand the reasons behind why they were removed in the first place. Metalworks seemed quite balanced to me whenever I played it, whereas Viaduct is dull as fuck to play on 6v6. Maybe Coalplant would be a nice alternative to Viaduct but Metalworks wasn’t really given a proper chance.

    At least provide some reasons as to why it was decided this map would be removed apart from “it is shit”, AKA very few high div players bothered to try to learn how to play it.

    The only map I’ve ever heard or seen there is cp_edifice, and it’s not good enough to be added to the map pool. It’s an untested and reworked version of gravelpit, which wasn’t a popular format.
    If the admins wanted to add another koth map, they would have added coalplant, which they did, so that rules out all those koth options.
    Which leaves aurora and zinkenite. Never heard of them which means they’ve never even been mentioned on the forums before to my knowledge! How does that make them viable suggestions to be added to a season?! If there are new maps that people know about, they should bring them to light and try to get them tested, not expect people to go dredging through fpsbanana or some shit looking.

    Most mappers hate the community for competitive so refuse to map for it, the ones who do map for it dont know any way of contacting or getting testing going in competitive, most competitive maps go without any competitive testing because comp players rarely get involved. And considering most of the community for comp wants new maps I would expect those people to be looking around, testing, trying to get new maps in the season, not bitching and moaning and then doing fuck all to change it.
