Week 1 default dates

This first league week, we only had to assign 2 default dates, which is a lot better than last season. Keep up the good work! Matches that have been given a default date are:

The UKeSA

What is the UKeSA? The UKeSA is a big UK-based eSports association. It tries to professionalize eSports. Amongst others, it has chosen TF2 as one of their played games for season 1. And here’s the catch: The games with the biggest amout of signups will go on to become premiership games. These premiership games will have a nice prize fund (details yet to be announced). While this all has few to do with the ETF2L, it is a big development for TF2 as a competitive game if we can get it into the premiership. Therefor we want to encourage as much teams as possible to sign up for the UKeSA in order to give TF2 a boost.

Division 1 playoff

Sadly, the division 1 team Komacrew ceased to exist before the season could start. There has been a lot of controversy about who will replace them. Therefore we have decided to do a small cup this sunday between 4 of the strongest division 2 teams to decide who will take the spot. Details of this cup are the following:

• Start date: Sunday 18th January, 20:00 CET
• Maps for both rounds: cp_granary and cp_badlands. Possible decider: 1 attack/defence round on cp_gravelpit.
• Gamemode: normal league gamemode. No golden cap in case of a map draw. A win is 3 points, a draw 1 point.

This match will be covered by ETF2L radio. One of the first round matches will be covered, as well as the finals. Be sure to tune in to these great matches.

To ensure everything keeps running smooth, the ETF2L is searching for a few new admins after some departures from our team.  As an admin you’ll help us with the day-to-day operations that come with running the competitions, as well as think with us on about everything concerning the ETF2L. Week 1 schedule deadline

Just a small note: the week 1 schedule deadline is tomorrow, Sunday the 18th at 23:59 CET. Any matches not scheduled by then will be assigned a default date.

Our Highlander Cup and Arena Cup #1 are finished and also the Scout & Demoman 1on1 Cup are at their final stages – time for some new, fresh Fun Cups! After the big request in the Competition Request Forum [Link] we decided on arranging another Basketball 2on2 Cup for sure. Due to different opinions on which map and classes should be played, we opened two polls about these issues. Also all other important facts for this Cup are listed below.

Beside this upcoming Basketball Cup, there will be another 3 (!) new Fun Cups which will be arranged by us in the next weeks. Everyone has the chance to vote for his 3 favorite options in our public poll below. The top voted Cup will already start in 2 weeks together with the Bball-Cup!

4th cup quarter finals

Our live IRC drawing of the 4th cup was last sunday. We had to wait for all matches to finish before we could enter the quarter finals into the system. Now we have done so. There are only 8 teams left, where we started with 128. THis is where it starts to get interesting. Here are the quarter finalists:

Highlander cup

Our highlander cup finished last sunday with a victory for Second to Last. They won the finals from  FakkelBrigade in 2 maps, pl_goldrush and pl_badwater. We would like to congratulate Second to Last on their win, and hereby award them this nice pixely cup image:

Deleted matchcomment/calendar entries

Because of me being stupid i managed to delete all matchcomments, as well as scheduled matches for a few divisions. The divisions affected are: Division 1, Division 3b and Division 4c. As this concerns only a few matches, none of whch were played, i’m sure this won’t be a major problem. Please re-enter the matches lost from the calendar. We apologize for this, and promise it won’t happen again.

Division changes

We changed quite a few teams in several divisions over the last few days due to teams dropping. Please check your division if any new team popped up. All teams who have a week 1 match against one of these replaced teams will receive a notice in a matchcomment and hopefully by email as well if your leader checks his inbox.

No, that’s not enough! At 21.15 CET our old new partner PwnageTV will cast the probably most promising match of the 4^th Round of our 4^th Cup. The “German Team of the Season”-Award winner Die Doppelnullen will meet one of the most improved teams of the last weeks: Weapons of the Rebelion 2.
