Season 8 Award Polls Open!

Date February 1, 2011

After having counted all your nominations the past few days, it is now time for you to vote for your favourites in the following polls:

  • Most surprisingly good team
  • Div2-6 team of the season
  • Most valuable player
  • Upcoming talent
  • Best medic
  • Best demoman
  • Best soldier
  • Best scout
  • Best sniper

Each poll contains the top 3 nominated players or teams. In addition, there are votes for the best division 2-6 teams. In 2 categories, one player and a team got so many nominations that they left no room for any competitors. Congratulations to Finland Team Refuse for winning the Fairplay Award  by showing that playing TF2 is not just about results. Also, congratulations to Finland Taimou for winning the Frag Clip Award with his nice medic clip. The polls will close on Sunday, 6th of February 2011, at 18:00 CET.

Good luck to all candidates and congratulations for making it into the poll phase!

Season 8 Ends, Award Nominations & Congratulations to Epsilon!

Date January 29, 2011

UPDATE!! The ETF2L.radio cast between Blight Gaming vs Epsilon E-sports is now up! Click here to download!

Congrats to European Epsilon eSports for securing their second ETF2L victory! Taking the 1st place in the league phase, Epsilon went into the playoffs with great confidence and  ultimately secured their deserved title in the awesome Season 8 final.  Slick’s sexy band of merry men lost just two maps over their most recent successful campaign of competitive tf2.

Road to Victory

The second place was taken by Germany Blight Gaming who crawled their way up to be one of the top teams of tf2. The 3rd place was taken by Finland Power Gaming. In division 1 UK Monster Munch took the first place with 1 point difference on 2nd place Russia Eternity. Congratulations to all of them and of course to the rest of the divisions, who have created a very exciting and close season.

Season 8 Award Nominations

With the season having come to an end, it is of course time for the ETF2L Awards of the Season. Before we kick off the voting process, we will first ask you, the community, to nominate the contestants. Besides the usual awards, such as those for the best players of each competitive class, there will be awards for the Most Surprisingly Good Team and the Frag Clip of the Season, amongst others. In addition to that, we will be looking to award the player who has been the most stable and important factor for his team during the season, in the new Most Valuable Player of the Season award.

ETF2L radio – Season 8 – Premiership Title – LE FINALE! – Epsilon esports vs Blight Gaming

Date January 24, 2011

ETF2L radio will be casting the Premier finale! between the two most arguably consistent and fully active teams. Europe Epsilon eSports vs Germany Blight Gaming!

Epsilon e-sports have dominated, urinated and exterminated over all the premiership teams this season only dropping 2 maps in the entire season. It would be on some level a huge crime if epsilon were not to win the title. However it’s their title to lose, they have the momentum and the team capability to annihilate anyone if they are on form.

Blight gaming on the other hand have had a mixed season, climbing just into the 4th play-off spot but doing very well in their first play-off match against Finland Power Gaming. One would argue that Blight Gaming have fully deserved to be in the final, just going by their consistency and activeness in this season at ETF2L.

Germany Ze Germans will be ready for this final, they won’t let this one time opportunity slip from them. I’m sure Mr Marco (mvp) will try his utter best and out stratify epsilon with some obscure (get it?) tactics.

Expect nothing but Extremer crying to Byte in tf2.europe, mvp being more german than any of you could imagine (<3) and Slick still being sexy tonight.

ETF2L Season 8 Playoffs Continue!

Date January 19, 2011

Tonight 3 more playoffs are to be played containing, easily, the most anticipated of them all!

Finland Flai Gaming vs. European renoB

Starting things off at 20:45 CET will be the Finns Finland Flai Gaming taking on European renoB to compete for that division 3 spot. Flai have had a somewhat better season 8 than renoB, but nevertheless, this should prove to be a good game with both teams desperately wanting the division 3 place.

Spain Gamerzone vs. European MTF.Gaming – Paroxysm

Tonight at 21:15 CET will see the game between Spain Gamerzone and European MTF.Gaming – Paroxysm to decide who takes the spot in the premiership division for season 9. This will no doubt be an awesome game as there are huge stakes on the line. Gamerzone recently lost their medic Spain Cuspide, and with merc medic Finland Taimou, will they be able to overcome the language barrier and take out a solid looking Paroxysm to keep their premiership place?

Spain GIANTS Gaming vs. Germany n2o-gaming.TF2

Also at 21:15 we will see fellow spaniards Spain GIANTS Gaming go head to head with the Germans at Germany n2o-gaming.TF2 to decide who moves up to division 1 and who will stay in division 2. With n2o losing scout Germany .stefan to Germany Blight, how will this affect their gameplay? Will they be able to remain composed and structured or fall to pieces at the hands of the GIANTS?
