The Season 11 format will probably be a lot like that of Season 10!. We will of course announce any changes for the new season as soon as we decide what they may be. For the moment, we’d like to hear what you think the map pool should be.

Presenting: The Season 11 Map Pool Poll!

Please note: Voters do not need to pick 6 maps, 6 is just the maximum. If for example you only want 4 maps, pick those 4 and submit your vote.

Foundry Cup Wrap-up & Some S10! Awards!

Date January 6, 2012

Foundry Cup Wrap-up

Last night we held what seems to have been the largest one-night competition in TF2 history! 80 teams were placed into brackets of 16 and gave Valve’s latest map a thorough workout. Winning was not the main objective, but since we all love a shiny trophy, here is the list of winners:

  • Highest Bracket:
    • European Team YoYoTech
    • European Karnage eSports
    • European elemental violence
    • Russia ISIS
  • High Bracket:
    • Ukraine Team Useless
    • European dashfire
    • France SexyGamers
    • Finland no name yet
  • Low Bracket:
    • European Team iLuminate
    • UK nervousENERGY Green
    • Belarus G7 eSports
    • European Team Colonslash: Reditio
  • Lowest Bracket:
    • European Young Men
    • CzechRepublic Zaparit
    • Finland Extreme Tambourine Players
    • Ukraine Deadly touch

The Mid bracket suffered a few delays which resulted in the final and one semi-final not being played. We have allowed the teams involved to find some time in the very near future to play their matches and conclude what was overall a great event.

Some Season 10! Awards

After 5 days and around 800 votes each, we are ready to announce winners for most of the Season 10! Awards. Some of the polls are still close – we will keep those polls open until Sunday. The following winners received over 50% of the votes, so we are happy to declare them early:

  • Off-classer of the Season: Sweden wltrs
  • MVP of the Season: Germany Schocky

Excello SPARKLE tournament and some reminders

Date January 4, 2012

Excello are happy to announce their fifth sponsored Team Fortress 2 tournament. The upcoming tournament is sponsored by the graphics chip manufacturer SPARKLE and the winner of the invitational tournament will receive six SPARKLE GTS 450 1024MB 128bit DDR5 One Slot graphics cards.

The signups for the open tournament, held on Monday, January 9, are open from now on until the check-in starts. The maximum slots are 64. If it becomes conceivable that there will not be significantly more than 32 signups, the slots will be reduced to 32. Keeping 64 slots means the first round starts with the recently added official new 5cp map cp_foundry. Reducing the slots to 32 means the first round will start with cp_granary, the second features cp_badlands and so on.

The list of the invited teams for the invitational bracket that will be played on Monday, January 16 is:

  • 1 Epsilon eSports
  • 2 Infused.Tt eSports
  • 3 Crack Clan
  • 4 Relic
  • 5 CKRAS Gaming
  • 6 broder
  • 7 Team Yoyotech
  • 8 Exotic

For any questions or remarks feel free to contact CanFo, Crasp, huhy or SonnyBlack on #excello.tf2 / quakenet or leave a comment on this post.

Happy New Year! Foundry Cup! Highlander Deadline Reminder! Season 10 Awards Polls!

Date January 1, 2012

Happy New Year!

A year ends and another begins! Last year TF2 allegedly died at least once – all we know is, we’re the biggest TF2 league in the world and all we did last year was get bigger. Happy New Year from everyone here at ETF2L, may 2012 be a good one for all of you!

Foundry Cup!

As most readers will probably know by now, cp_foundry is the latest map created by Valve for TF2. Some good things have been said of it, as well as more than a few requests to add it to next season’s map pool. Before we do that, we’d like to give it a proper test, in the form of a one-night cup! As usual, it’s open to 6v6 teams, however it is also possible to enter this cup using a Fun Team, which can be setup using this page. The draw for the cup will be held at 19:00 CET on Thursday, January 5th, with the cup itself starting at 20:00 CET.

  • Setup – Cups of 16, divided by skill levels
  • Merc rules – 2 mercs allowed by default
  • Bracket draw – Thursday, January 5th at 19:00 CET in #etf2l (irc.quakenet.org)
  • Map – cp_foundry
  • Feedback Thread – Here
  • Sign-ups open – Now

Highlander Deadline Reminder: The Deadline for all Highlander Season 1 matches is this Sunday, January 8th. Please make sure you have played all of your Highlander League matches by then, otherwise we will have to enter a null result.

Season 10 Award nominations

A step back can be a step forth! We return to the old-fashioned nomination system where every player can nominate his favourites in our nominations forum for the award polls which will start on January 1. The nominations will close on December 31 so make sure to nominate someone before celebrating New Year’s Eve.

The awards you can nominate for are listed below.

Full List of Season 10! Winners

ETF2L Season 10(!) with 360 signups and only 78 drops came to an satisfying end. The drop rate was about 21.67% which is the lowest since Season 7. (Disclaimer: These numbers to not take replaced teams into account). As foreseen by head admin Scottish Crasp, this one was definitely one of the top 10 seasons ETF2L ever ran – if not the most competitive at least. Check out the full list of all division winners below.
