Overview

During the Christmas update, Valve added a new medigun to the game with unique gameplay mechanics – The Vaccinator. What better way is there to test its effect on gameplay than with a Vaccinator-exclusive One Night Cup?

The Cup will take place on Thursday, 7th of February, and both 6v6 and fun teams are welcome. Signups will close at 18 CET on Cup Night.

Update: The BFF vs myDGB.net Premiership match has been wildcarded due to BFF’s having last-minute problems with their lineup.

ETF2L Season 14 powered by Twitch Premiership Matchup

Having both lost their opening matches, tonight sees joint bottom of the table PyRo|GEN eSports play Quarantine in what is sure to be the closest match of the Season 14 Premiership so far. After a promising result vs an on form broder team, PyRo|GEN will be looking to assert some early dominance on the lower end of prem in order to maintain their position for next season. On the other hand, Quarantine with a well known lineup issue in the previous game have now completed their lineup with the addition of Koeitje on scout and will be looking properly to launch their premiership campaign. Both teams will be looking to take maximum points from this game if they hope to go on to a playoff finish and a loss might confine the loser to a season of fighting to survive relegation. With a huge conflict in the defensive style of Quarantine and the aggressive style of PyRo|GEN, this game could be a difficult one to call.

And the winner is…

The third season of ETF2L Highlander has drawn to a close, and reigning championsSNSD have retained their crown as Champions, taking home €1,035 and bragging rights. The winning players, who managed to go the whole season without losing a single map are:

• kaidus (Demoman)
• ALX (Heavy)
•  CUBE (Engineer)
• Hat (Medic)
•  TviQ (Sniper)
•  Hurri (Spy)

However, their road to victory wasn’t as easy as previous seasons! They dropped points for the first time in 3 seasons of Highlander, and were tested by  Parrot Gapers on cp_granary:

• Week 1 vs. : Max-Play Highlander Team: 6-0  pl_badwater 4-0
• Week 2 vs. : Legolas’ Wrath: 6-0 cp_steel 4-0
• Week 3 vs. : colony: 6-0 pl_upward 4-0
• Week 4 vs. : Parrot Gapers: 6-0 koth_lakeside_final 3-0 – cp_granary 2-1
• Week 5 vs. : May Contain Nuts: 4-2 cp_gravelpit 2-1
• Grand Final vs. : Parrot Gapers:  6-0 cp_granary 4-1 – pl_badwater 4-0

Silver medalists Parrot Gapers take away €630, and Bronze medalists  May Contain Nuts win €405.

In the Secondary Playoffs  Legolas’ Wrath placed first and win €360, while  DAROUTOUTOU were runners up and win €135.

 colony won the Secondary Playoffs Consolation Final, and thus retain their spot as a Premiership team.

Broder, one of the strongest teams currently in the premiership, are set to face off against PyRo|GEN eSports, an outfit only present in the league due to their outstanding performance in the premiership qualifiers by beating off swathes of high division hopefuls. The vast majority will be backing Broder on this one, but PyRo|GEN have shown they certainly have the tenacity and potential to succeed, maybe enough to cause the biggest upset that Season 14 has to offer.

PyRo|GEN eSports are an all (le) star team of the most promising French players that TF2 has to offer, not limited to Exon, a demoman who has been effervescently hyped up to be ‘the next big thing in European TF2’ and  Gladia, a premiership throwback with a set of Punchline-shaped notches on his bedpost. If PyRo|GEN want to claim victory tonight they need to play to their strengths and hopefully gamble on the colossal complacency that Broder have been oozing out of every pore in recent games, partially due to them being held in high regard by world-renowned luminary beach in his VanillaTV Article earlier this month. Broder will certainly be striding into this game confidently, but how they leave will be entirely up to the fresh-faced French ranks of their opposition.
