Welcome to Highlander Season 14 Open Semi Finals
This match will be played as a best-of-three, all stopwatch maps will be played as best-of-three as usual.
Maps will be decided using the following Map Elimination System:
Team A bans a map
Team B bans a map
Team B picks 1st map
Team A picks 2nd map
i’m a mid spy picks 3rd map
As the higher seed i’m a mid spy can decide if they want to begin the pick/ban as “Team A” or if Majestic Casuals have to.
If you have any questions make sure to contact the admins as soon as possible.

It has come to our attention that the merc for “i’m a mid spy”, the winged dragon of ra, is mid experienced due to having played a total of 4 matches in mid tier in past 3 seasons.
Due to this, “i’m a mid spy” will receive a minor warning and a default loss for this match.

imo, the default merc should’ve been queried before the match was played. since he was presented over 24 hours before the match you had plenty of time to do your research. either you had no problem with him being a default merc until you lost or you wanted to hold that in the bag to claim a default win…
the def loss is fair, he is “overqualified”. but you guys really should’ve cleared this before the match was played
Problem is they said on the day of the match that they no longer needed the merc, as such we presumed they werent going to use him, and we only noticed after the game looking back at the demos.
They didn’t need the engie merc, the default (demo merc) was always going to be used. it’s your job to research what mercs the enemy team is using, I agree our team should’ve used a default merc that was in accordance to the rules (I had nothing to do with the decision since I wasnt playing) , however, “Even the default merc has to be presented, so that your opponents can make sure he is not too experienced.” Thus, it’s your responsibility to verify that the mercs are allowed, even the default ones. Watching demos back and THEN querying the merc is an error on your part and to be honest, makes your team look desperate to get a cheap win in a game.
Your leader should have clarified which merc wasn’t needed anymore because if Fasto believed that the demo wasn’t needed anymore, he would have had no reason to check him. This also wouldn’t have happened if the demo didn’t leave the team a few days before the match.
I will point out though that I did check him before the match but wasn’t aware that 6s experience counted. Since he had only played 2 mid hl matches, I thought he was genuine. If I had realised that he wasn’t genuine, I would have told Fasto so apologies for that.
