It explains why baddies think MGE sucks or isnt useful because their skill sucks and they can only do good in 6v6 when they have a team to carry them LOL

MGE shows your DM skill. Agreed.

DM isnt what defines a team game tho, it’s one half of it. You can compensate for lack of DM with good decisions just as you can compensate for lack of brain with good DM. Good DM can carry you a long way, just as good decision making can carry you a long way.

Claiming either one is useless or overrated just shows how much your thinking is defined in black and white only.

Talent at what? MGE? As has been discussed and argued about previously, having a high MGE rating might just mean you play MGE serious mode and use aforementioned ‘faggot’ tactics to win at all costs.

Skill for me includes external factors and map knowledge. The best scouts know when to charge in and mop up, when to go back cap, how to get behind enemies at the right time, when to offclass etc. None of this matters one jot in MGE, dodging and aim, that’s what you train there, ‘skill’ in competitive TF2 simply has to include dodging, aim, map knowledge, enemy awareness, positioning, making and responding to calls, teamwork, gamesense and timing.

It’s all well and good pwning the jumping soldier as he tries to stop you capping spire, but if that x4 backcap you let through by not watching flanks continues you still lost mid and probably the round, so who’s the most skilful?

I don’t think anyone thinks MGE sucks, it’s a decent way to train your DM and dodging, but that’s it. If you play a team game then your integration within that team is massively important and much more so than individual DM.

One scout with beast DM will still lose to 2 avearge scouts and a roamer watching flanks like hawks.
