I’m sure I’m not the only server admin who regularly uploads SourceTV demo files from ETF2L matches to the website. Currently I zip the demo files up on the server, download the zips to my machine and then have to re-upload them on my home connection.

As the game server has far better bandwidth, I’d really like to see a small modification to the demo upload system. Obviously keep the existing HTTP file upload mechanism, but please introduce another input box allowing us to enter a URL to a zip file.

This would allow people like me to quickly and easily upload demo files and I’d be more tempted to do it regularly as I have the zip file creation mostly automated on my server.

The PHP code required for this is fairly simple and I’d be more than happy to help if you need it.
