After a few days figuring out how to make tf2 working on Ubuntu, I managed to make the game running. I have 2 annoying problems that I would like to fix.

The first one is the pointer. The mouse pointer flashes in the middle of the screen, specially when im moving the mouse. I have no idea how to fix this.

I want to try disabling the light that comes out from the lamps, anyone know a console command for that? If there is any other solution, please tell!

I am running ubuntu now because I can’t afford an expensive OS like windows. So don’t tell me the problem is Linux or something

I tried pirated XP, Vista, windows 7 and even windows 8. All of them are corrupted, the only one that works is Linux Ubuntu 11.10 OS (and works pretty good, boots in ~25s)

Windows 8 is available for free from Microsoft. If it’s corrupt then you’re doing it wrong.

Have you tried it without the dx9frames?

Also i bet you would get a lot more/better help on the wine forums.
