Seriously past week it’s pretty much unplayable, I was able to get 60-70 on directx9 chris fps config, then it’s gone down the drown to 20-30. So i changed it to the max frames one, i’m getting 10-20. don’t think my system is weak. quad core, 460gtx oc, 4gb ram. It’s starting to piss me off, I’ve defrag everytime there’s an update. Any other game runs on high PERFECTLY! apart of this shit which barely runs on 20fps on fucking configs…
this was happening to me but they just updated tf2 and its improved on the performance. have u played it just now?

yup same thing.
My system is worse and it’s running good for me, only sometimes drops to 50~ on 24 server spam.

I’m talking regular 6v6. hell I was playing a mix not too long ago. middle was like 15 fps and last point push was around 10
I have a dualcore and i have almost stable 120 fps on pub.
It sometimes drops to 80ish at lowest when there are a lot of lasorbeams. But meh, dont notice it.
Oh yeah, my gfx card is worse then yours (op) and my fps config is chrisdx9 with a lot of extra aa, asf, details, ragdolls, shadows and giblets. FullHD screenres.

Switch to full screen if you’re running windowed – works for some people.

I’ve always been running fullscreen mode.
I tried max quality expecting miracles, however it doesn’t work for me :(

i have no idea what u`ve got on your pc, but im running 80-120fps on 24slot servers. My pc is pretty shit. Duo core e5200 @ 2.5ghz (not clocked), Gigabyte 9600GT 512mb ddr3, shit intel mobo. running it at 1280×1024 window. mode. with maxframes config.

have/had the same problem….
useing also chris fps configs, max quality etc works well but the best fps Ißm getting with chris dx 9 fps cfg….stable 120fps with the 460gtx….
be sure you running it in -dxlevel 95
high fps etc works much worse on my pc…
anyway…very ppor performance on tf2…terrible tearing and so on
gl finding a cfg…
