Ok. Just thinking. I removed the servers from master browser. I think it would be also advised to change ports on the servers? Or removing the server form the browser will eliminate possibility of that happening again?

Yeah I forgot to say I did change the port too, although our server was already running on a different port to 27015. We tried running a game without tournament mode on and it still crashed, but the only thing that has (apparently) fixed it was removing the server from the master lists.

edit. I added the launch options and I removed the servers from the master server and had no problems so far (although we have 3 match servers and I only tested 1 so far)

Tried this yesterday – after 10 the server crashed again :x

We’re hearing reports that servers hosting competitive matches are crashing on a regular basis and we’re trying to investigate the problem. If your server is crashing regularly and you’re not running any plug-ins, please check to see if you have any .dmp or .mdmp files that you can send us to help diagnose the problem. We’re not sure yet if this is related to using sv_pure or a whitelist. Any details you can provide will be appreciated.

The problem we were experiencing was not crashes, the server just freezes for about 35 seconds then continues where it left off. No server restart no map restart you can actually just continue playing the match as long as everyone has not timed out.

With the recent firewall fix to prevent attacks on high level games, maybe the attackers have switched their attack vector to more vulnerable servers. Its not hard to find a server running a comp match (13 man, passworded, stv tags?) Sure a automated program could do it, and the idea of only attacking for 30 seconds is that is the default time-out for most players so the match has been ruined move onto the next target.

However, has anyone experienced this in warm-up time?

servers dont have 12 ppl on there when its warmup :D

i mean, jesus, its rather obvious its dos… no american servers crash/hang like euro does only cuz they play at like 5am and all children are in bed… i just hope admins at multiplay are not as retarded as they seem to be and will put the simple fix thats already out there

you dont even need a bot to do srs dmg, just go in server browser, find password protected server with 12ppl and go exploit…

perhaps you could do everyone and favour and go on the hlds list and post that then, cause it sure as hell aint on there

We crashed at the second we were going live, right before you get in spawn.
And all the other ‘ crashes’ were 35 sec long.
Coincidence? or updated fucked something over?
