4GB RAM, new gfx
that CPU is absolutely no problem at all. OC it if you can be bothered but theres very little point buying a new one if all you do is play TF2.

slow down mate. We’re talking about a guy with a basic gaming PC who wants to make it quicker, not building some massive OC’d beast of a machine. :P
well he already is running at 70 so…
exactly. any oc is gonna take him to 80 under load. tbh using fps config generally will stop you dropping so many frames in busy situations. then cap it at 80

Haha so true. I’m currently running TF2 locked on 120 FPS after adjusting some settings, the graphics are still pretty good tho.
use m0res config and u can run it well on that machine.
my old py got Geforce 8600 GTS 256MB c2d E6600 2.4 ghz.
With m0res config. AVG FPS of 100. some drops to 80 and peaks to 150.
My new system is locked for 120 FPS ;) high settings

As for the on topic, since u overclocked your cpu, the best step would be getting a new gfx, 8800gts 320 is too short for tf2, u should try to get a 4870/gtx260 perhaps 2nd handed (should cost around 80€-100€) until you do a big upgrade
