QL rockets are faster.
13,5341332596443 mph
Quake rockets are about twice the speed of tf2 rockets, no?
no, quake live rox are 1000 ups and i’m pretty sure tf2’s arent 500 (barely faster than a scout).
the rockets in TF2 are too slow, coming from QW it struck me immediately just how slow they are, which makes it all the more puzzling that rockets have massive fall-off damage at distance yet nades dont – there’s no logical reason for this

Rockets dont have to be direct hits. Logical enough? :P
Nades do less splash damage so they kinda have a fall off, if you hit a direct rocket i think it should (if its not already) do 100% damage no matter what really but i dunno
TF2 rockets move at 1100ups. I’m not sure what speed they are in QL but they’re definitely faster.

Did you ever play with a mental sweed called Sassa?
lol tf2 rocket ups is definately not 1100
…meanwhile somewhere on #cpmpickup…
[12:47] nvc: someone said tf2 was 1100 ups and i just laughed a little inside
[12:47] nekon: LOL TF2 1100
[12:47] nekon: HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
[12:47] nekon: more like 800
800 is obviously a sarcastic guess btw
what i know is:
quake 3 (vq3) is 900ups
quake 3 (cpm) is 1000ups
quake live rockets are supposed to be 100ups faster than vq3, so technically 1000ups, but that doesn’t tie in with cpm rocket speed which i’m sure is faster, see the video here: http://nvc.inx-gaming.co.uk
So i’d probably take an uneducated guess at 950ups for quake live..
Have you tried using a plugin to measure their speed?

I’ve converted maps from Quake and they’ve looked smaller in TF2 so a unit in Quake is probably larger, hence the “high” rocket speed.

SyncError has said in the past that it’s 1000 ups, but perhaps with the different model hitboxes and map scaling quake live has the discrepancy could be accounted for.
