I think most of the death’s under Mao Zedong and Stalin fall under state terrorism and not genocide.
Didn’t expect byte to be a drone, that’s rather funny.
we’re open minded byte
question is how open minded are *most* of the Muslims towards other religions
Maybe in 50/100 years, whenever, Europe will be full of muslims… so what? I’m not muslim, nor catholic, and I don’t care what people want to believe.
I think what berserking god said is quite right… part of the muslim culture nowadays isn’t different from christian culture of a few centurys ago. The problem is that they replaced swords with bombs, missiles and nukes.
And btw jews != muslims :p
Who’s “we” ? I never said some of you weren’t i said it’s interesting to see who’s open minded and who’s not : >
And gryzor , me a drone? Behave son :-)
Think what Foxtreme has stated is quite true and correct. <3 Fox
Bjuo you have a valid point by far, an “actual” muslim respects other’s belief, an actual extremist of Islam will not (which mean hes not a muslim, hes a extremist =))
Cheers
Byte
It also boils down to what you define as an extremist. I define a religious extremist as someone who is willing to kill for his god or religion – that is not to say that he’s doing so, but that he thinks certain conditions provided by his belief/scriptures allow or condone killings in the name of that belief.
If people say murder is okay because the conditions of their religion for allowing it is met, then no, they’re extremists. Not active extremists, but their viewpoints are indeed extreme.
This is not a definition accepted by most muslims I’ve spoken with, because that would mean they actually belong to the extremist group and they cannot accept that, as they also believe extremists are wrong. From experience muslims are easily offended and feel threatened if their religion is mocked, but I don’t think that has anything to do with Islam, but that it’s more a cultural phenomenon.
Most Muslims I’ve met accept the definition of extremist as someone who bends reality to fit the conditions provided by their scriptures, when the conditions aren’t met in actuality. Is one more right than the other? To have a divine license to kill seems absurd as far as I’m concerned. But as I said, once the Muslim part of the world has attained industrialization, more technology, more developed/stable economy and a solid educational system, I believe we’ll see less and less of extremists, but Islam will become a lifestyle choice and a community, much like today’s Christianity.
