I really suggest you check these out: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0079G2Y52
I had never heard about such a company before, bought these just to try them out if they’re worth anything since they indeed were cheap and had virtual surround.
Bought them -> totally blew my mind.
REALLY comfy, the mic’s way better than I thought it would be, and the sound with and without virtual surround is amazing.
5/5, would buy another pair if these were to break.

Planatronics will generally give you the best value for money (and aren’t total wank either). Comfortable too.

If you can pick one up cheap though, Razer Megalodon’s are bloody glorious. Had the same pair for a few years. Great quality audio and the mic quality is great. Added bonus in that it’s a simple plug/play into any USB slot. I wouldn’t however say it’s worth paying it’s retail price of £120 or however much it is nowadays. Grab one for £80-odd and you’re set.

@stark just convenience really

What’s convenient about it?

Doesn’t seem very convenient to me when your headset’s mic stops working and you have to buy an entire new headset because of it…

Which is why you don’t buy a £5 headset from Lidl…

Had this after a year using my Steelseries Siberia V2s. They were great up until now, and now I’m using a terrible Logitech headset around my neck for a mic.

Had Steelseries Siberia v2, apart from the fact that they broke in a less than a week, I was regretting the purchase already on day 1. Like, the bass and quality was fine but they were pretty quiet for something that somebody would pay 100$ for.

I can confirm Aurvana Live! is amazing. However, I bought it when it was pretty cheap on Amazon (I think it was 56$) so there might be something better for its current price.
Just ask to Atmo.
