I cba walking to work anymore, so I’m looking for a cheap way to roll.
I have no idea about skateboard price ranges, or if I should buy a complete board or loose components. I don’t wanna spend too much on it, just need to make sure it’s above toy store level.
If anyone could point me in the right direction, much obliged!
Buy a longboard
i bought loose components , a jart (spanish brand i think) board, good and not expensive , then industrial truckz , and element wheels . im happy with that skate i made, although im not a big skater :P
but i have to say , if you just want to roll down to work i guess a longboard is a pretty good choice , and its so fun

Horses are for hipsters as well. it’s “vintage”
skating since more then 25 years now! ;)
I dont know your way to work and your skating skills, maybe a longboard wouldnt fit, i pesonally just bought the most awesome Board i have ever seen and its a “cruiser”, longboard wheels, very smooth to ride, i use this to get into the city and stuff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbDZQ54y3SE
if you are not a simpsons fan just look for a “cruiser” ;)

Skating since I was 6 years old! I’ve had tons of boards but my ideal setup would go something like this. Board: Zero or Flip. Trucks: Independent or Thunder. Wheels: Spitfire or Pig. Bearings: Bones. Might get too expensive for your purposes though.
You can always ask someone at your local shop to build you a cheap but good board.

Buy the board, ball bearing and wheels from ebay or a similar site. Its the cheapest way.
Buy a shitty bike.
End of story
