I got a puretrak talent with my MX518. The surface is excellent, it’s fucking huge, plus it’s washable so you can get it back to it’s original condition if it gets too dirty over time.

The only downside for me is I have tracking problems with both of my MX518s (occasionally it gives me a nasty zig-zag pattern). I contacted support to get a refund but they replied once and never replied again. :/

I’ve been sending them emails for the past 5 months, along with posting on their message board, no response so far. It’s not a problem if you know you’re going to like it, but if you do get a problem with it like me, good luck trying to get through to them.

I don’t want to hijack the thread, but I guess I’d better answer:

I’ve tried:
– changing dpi (400/800/1800)
– switching to a different mx518
– switching to a different computer
– reinstalling setpoint
– downgrading setpoint
– upgrading setpoint
– cleaning the optical laser on both mice using microfibre cloth

running setpoint 6.15.6, with a w7 acceleration fix.

It happens about once in 10 times when I put the mouse down on the mousepad, whenever I move the MX518 vertically it has some nasty zig-zag lines on the vertical axis like this: http://i.imgur.com/o1cAk.gif – or worst case scenario: http://i.imgur.com/2Cm5V.gif (that’s supposed to be a straight line :c)

Haven’t actually tried changing the polling rate, but I’ll try it and get back to you.

Never ever even heard of Puretrak.. Did I just screw myself? … 2 x Steelseries NP+ are going to be delivered… TODAY. Yai.. Or did I screw myself not ordering puretracks ? Because the NP+ Looks nice though.. O hell..
