Didn’t work for me.
Didn’t work for me either.
In a few years we’ll remember this day as the following:
What was the first sign?, people often ask. Around 3 pm, the Steam servers started going down, one by one, the network upon which our life was based was crumbling. Some people handled it better than others. They set up message boards and other aids in order to partly replace the gap Steam had left. Needless to say, it were small patches against the flood. Other people simply started running over the streets naked.
The standard of life degraded rapidly after that. After one week, 15% had entirely lost it’s internet connection, after a month entire countries went off the grid. 2 months later, the last connection was terminated, destroyed by humans barely capable of common speech. They were the first to fall.
A year after the event, the population of the Earth was 20% of what it was before. The cities died out first, they’re all eerie ghost towns now. People in the country were more used to helping themselves.
Now, 2 years later, we live in small enclaves, strictly regulated. We rarely go out, only if it’s really necessary, and only at night. During the day, [y]they[/i] can easily spot you, and we all know what happens if they do…
We lost another 2 men two nights ago. They went out to the farmlands to harvest the carrots we had planted there. They were spotted. All we heard was some terrible screams. I could barely sleep that night. The day after some other men went to find out what happened, and to harvest the carrots. They came back with the carrots, thank god for that. The two men from the night before they hadn’t seen…
OR, the steam servers will be back in a few hours, which means we will be saved. Hallelujah!
