Eve was awsome played it for a year was getting skilled up, yet to have a good game you need a decent chunk of time and I just couldnt fit it around tf2 :(
Eve university is a dam good place to start out, join the uni blob for your first bit of pvp :D

They’ve finally decided to remove all learning skills. Should attract more new players to the game.

Kind of, its a player made promotional vid for their political ingame campaign, if i can remember right.
If you want ‘frag vids’, try some of Kil2’s videos, e.g. Betrayal. There are lots of crap vids out there, but this is one of the better ones ;)
EVE is 5€ on Steam now BTW. Pretty nice, prrretty nice.

I assume that the music in “Large Capital Fight in Eve” is added and is not part of the game, therefore it’s only fair to judge it with music turned off in which case it looks immensely boring. For the first video I can’t say much since it’s blocked in this godforsaken hellhole.
I tried the trial twice. Both times the amount of things was overwhelming. Granted it was a long time ago before the changes. Not my kind of game since I like shooting dudes and something that’s a bit more fast-paced.
I’m not saying EVE is a bad game. It looks gorgeus and if you belong to the niche that likes space-sim-spreadsheet-timeconsumers then it’s probably right up your alley.

i guess the easiest way to word it would be ‘its a declaration of war’, the video was made by the old mercenary coalition alliance as a way to publicise a massive campaign they were about to undertake against the (then) most powerful alliance in eve
you really need to know the backstory on the whole thing, its what makes the video so amazing – basically we are gonna come after you and we are gonna fuck you up.avi
and the reason i just posted those links was because according to animal mining and mission running is all you do in eve, when that really is not true, there was nothing better than engaging 15 cruisers on a lowsec gate in your faction fit bs, the adrenaline rush was amazing, makes me kinda miss eve in a way when i watch those videos

Could be nice if somebody could send me an invite!
edit – one thing that i still dont understand. If they are going to remove the learning skills all together, and give new users +12 extra base points, where will this leave me?
If i start now and just train those skills till the 12/14th or whichever december the update goes live, will I just get the skills points i`ve put into learning skills, or will I get the +12 extra base points too?

Worst beards ever. Any game can be at least somewhat good if it has some sweet beards. Like Medal of Honor 2010. Not very good but, man, those beards were something.
Playing this game feels like managing something in Windows. Many, many windows open that look relatively the same and are filled with something you’d need to study before you fully understand it.
Plus MMOs are about grinding. If I play an MMO I want it to be one of those fucking korean grindfest MMOs. Yeah son. Now I’m reminded that this game is definetly not for me.

I wouldn’t bother with the learning skills now, basically the learning skills were used to raise certain attributes which in turn lowers the time required to train the ingame skills you wish to take. When they remove them there will be a certain amount of skill points given to players depending on their current learning skill levels that they will be free to distribute as they wish, and they will then be able to put the 12 new base attribute points into whichever attributes they wish. As a new player you will not have the skill points invested into learning so will not get refunded points but you will receive the 12 attribute points to spend, this will let you get straight down to learning the combat/industry/cool skills and not wasting a months sub on training up learning.

if you would bother to do the tutorial which takes not more than two days of gameplay, you would understand 95% of windows in the game
