Wondering if anyone could help me with these:

– I’m wanting to remove the directional damage indicators, I assume they’re triggered by the HUD and not just by some cvar. What should I be changing to remove them?

– Even after quite a while using Vegas I’ve not worked out how to do a gradual slowdown instead of just splitting the clip and slowing it down (which isn’t gradual at all, it just immediately jumps to the new speed). I got told that something like this could be done using velocity, but when I try to use that the clip stays at the same length on the timeline.

Any ideas?

The clip will stay the same length – you have to drag it out yourself, then just edit the envelope.

right click -> insert envelope -> velocity

I still don’t understand, surely if the clip is dragged out and the velocity is changed the clip will either get smaller or larger?

EDIT: worked it out. now, how do I get the audio to sync with the velocity? there doesn’t seem to be an option to add a velocity envelope to the audio.

hold ctrl button while dragging the end of the clip with your mouse, it’ll stretch it as well as the audio, after that right click the audio>properties>lock to stretch ,otherwise the audio will sound stuttering

That’s not what I’m asking, I already knew that from the first minute I started using Vegas ;)

oh, then delete the video track of that clip and you have a stretched audio seperated
Edit: or right click on track duplicate track

Again, not what I’m asking.

i know what you are asking for, you want to do variable audio stretch (audio acceleration).
however sony vegas is just a Video editor so its audio editing power is poor, and that was the only way to stretch audio, sony sound forge can do it tho, it links itself to vegas if you have both installed

Bumping to reiterate that I’ve still not sorted this, hopefully Torden or somebody knows.

1. Right click on clip
2. Insert/remove envelope
3. Velocity
4. Double click on the green line to create a keyframe and move it up and down. It should make it gradual
I think that’s what you were asking?
