i followed the instructions however, when i launch the shortcut the game window flashes for a split second, then disappears and closes…any help on this???
hmm, i never encounter this problem myself, does the game run when you launch RUN_TF2 ?
it did earlier but now doesnt(i reinstalled) im very confused…
Updated with a guide to facial and other animations within SFM. Check out main post its around the bottom of it.
I can’t seem to export anything at all – when I try to create a tga, avi, wav, or “poster” file, nothing happens. I select the options, click “export” and it just closes the export window, taking me back to the main editing window without attempting to do anything.
I’ve tried different options checked, different compatibility modes, etc., but this is leaving me stumped.
Make sure you are running it in windowed mode i heard if you use it fullscreen it causes problems. other than that i dont really know whats causing that.

Ok, I followed all of the steps, added the text you need to put at the end of the target field, launched the shortcut, and now I’m in the game with the menu screen (Find Servers, Create Server, Developer Commentary, etc)….where/how do I get to Source Filmmaker?

Right click on your hl2.exe, then click Create Shortcut. Then on the hl2.exe – Shortcut, right click on that. Then go down to properties. And right in front of you, you’ll see “Target”. After the last of the text in that box (hl2.exe”) hit your spacebar after the quotation mark, paste the text you have to put there. It should look like this: “C:(where ever you put it)Team Fortress 2hl2.exe” -game tf -applaunch 440 -window -noborder -novid -tools

So you created the shortcut of “hl2.exe”? And you didn’t just rename the shortcut did you? You have to rightclick on your shortcut of hl2.exe and put all of that text in the “Target” box (one space after the quotation mark).
And did you follow ALL of the directions on the first page?
I just now got it working so there’s no reason for it not to work. Make sure you downloaded everything you needed to download (which is only 2 things).
yeah but it still gives me that damn error
the only thing i could have done wrong is that the FINAL_FIXX.rar in the folder it was
FINAL_FIXX_ADVANCED.rar
lol, You didn’t do anything wrong, it was FINAL_FIXX_ADVANCED in mine too.

I am running Win7 64bit, I was getting the same error until I had installed the tools, so make sure you have all tools in the right folders.
How do you increase motion blur/DOF, etc to make it look like the Meet The Team videos?
And how do you set multiple cameras and zoom in to shots?
And how do you trim your timeline down to get rid of unwanted footage?
Sorry for the question spam :/
