k here is the problem ive recorded my demo and recorded it to tga. so now then i upload it to virtual dub (im using the pldx tutorial) i change framerate i use the lagarith thingy. but then when i try to save it as an avi (i see the part i want to be avi in slo-mo) but when i open the avi i got like a 7 sec shokky sniper dancing around…
someone knows whats the problem? (and no sound is not enabled yet)
playing back uncompressed footage on a standard HDD won’t get you far. Try opening it in a video editor where you can use your RAM for playback, or create a lower quality proxy.
There is only that much your standard HDD can read data per second, and assuming you got the CPU power to play it back otherwise, some video players store some of the data into RAM as well so once you’ve played it back at the stuttering speed at first, re-playing it could make it faster (again, assuming you got the CPU/RAM power to handle that).
A quick test would just to encode a short uncompressed clip that stutters for you into a compressed format and play that back to see if that stutters, if it doesn’t then you’re good to go :)
