FaN is a pretty good pub weapon.
I mean there are some pretty damn sweet shortcuts and stuff you can take and if you play 100% of your scout time with the FaN I’d guess you could do some cool stuff… but the double jump is more than enough usually, and the scattergun has a lot more killing potential.
Not to mention almost all of the really useful shortcuts are on pub maps. :/

FaN is my new favourite weapon, I even genuinly beleive i’m now more effective with the FaN than the regular scattergun (which admittidly wasn’t so effective in the first place).
As for FaN jumping, some jumps are very useful, but in combat, it can only really be used as a getaway. You can’t afford to waste your first shot if you are planning on hitting an enemy with your second one unless it’s a garaunteed kill on a weak retreating target.
Miss your first shot with the FaN and you are probably dead. It’s a bit like playing instagib because once you hit the first shot, the second one is one of the easiest shots you will ever get to make.
Also depends on your role in the team, if you are one of these scouts that can hit 5 out of 6 of your scattergun shots, with the majority of them being meatshots, then the FaN isn’t for you. If you play all or nothing style, then it’s great.
