Hey, any idea where i could dl an older version of tf2, like say a version from 6 months back? I want to render a demo really bad, but it’s broken :<
Yeah good luck with that…

I remember having a broken demo a year ago. I downloaded some version on piratebay that worked pretty well. There might be some lan version from six months back or so there.

Hasn’t been updated in over a year.
Before TF2 went F2P, you could download nosteam versions produced by pirates, and use them to play back old demos. The nature of TF2’s F2P model made piracy obsolete, and there haven’t been any nosteam releases since summer of 2011.
I got a 2011 copy from piratebay, il report back later how things work on that, or if possible apply some updates to it aswell with the link turbo gave.
Thanks btw! :)
Well, i can’t even launch the thing whitout it giving me errors and crashing :<
Also all the links in the thread turbo linked are dead, so thats a bummer :/
Not really sure where to move on from here, i don't want to lose a few of the clips.

Made me laugh.
What is it written in console when you try to start it ?
lol, spam valve with reports ‘demos broken’ and they will fix it.
i did that 2 or 3 times already and they always fixed it after some days/weeks.

it’s georgian mirror dude ,geogria used to have their 100 man community in tf2 before tf2 went f2p . this is like 1-2 year old version , so might work. GL

Their updates repo disappeared several months ago. It was my source for old nonsteam versions as well.
I do still have a lot of them from when I used to help movie makers with old demos, but I stopped doing that ages ago so my repo isn’t exactly up to date either.
If you already have a non-steam version of tf2 and are looking for updates to roughly a year ago I might be able to help. For more recent versions of tf2, well, google :D
