At 0:32 to 0:36 how did the editor exactly do that? Did he used another POV ?

Currently this can only be achieved from a sniper PoV while he is zoomed in, or from a SourceTV demo by spectating a sniper that is zoomed in, then moving into freecam. You can also record a lower FoV smooth from a regular demo by recording at 1280×1024 and cutting off the top and bottom.

I think he was asking how he managed to get a smooth of himself.
Edit: You can also make a smooth of yourself with this zoomed in thing as any class by typing “addcond 1”.

Last edited by Starkie,
I was referring to the bit about SourceTV
i don’t really get this – in the actual video, the sniper is running, (and he carries the rifle,) but while you are zoomed, you can’t run, so i think, it can be done from stv demo only
or am i wrong?

When you spectate a sniper in a SourceTV demo while he’s zoomed in, if you move to freecam mode (press spacebar), the FoV will stay even after the sniper zooms out.
in stv, ye, but
Currently this can only be achieved from a sniper PoV while he is zoomed in…
What’s your point? The clips in the Meatshot 4 vid weren’t smooths, he asked how that effect was achieved, I said it’s from a SourceTV demo.
well, when he asked, you said, it can be done with a pov demo, while the sniper is zoomed, but i don’t understand, how – just curiosity
you can do a smooth at low fov using a sniper pov, but you wont see yourself, and you’re restricted to the time while the sniper is zoomed in.
you can do a thirdperson shot with low fov using a sniper pov but the camera track is fixed to the player model.
you can do a low fov shot of yourself with sourcetv but you don’t have any control over the camera aside from basic freecam movement
Just a thought, it isn’t possible to do a sniper low FOV using cheats no? sv_cheats 1; fov_desired 45?
sv_cheats 1; addcond 1 ?

Nope, FoV is locked by the demo.

That doesn’t stop you from doing it..

if type this command while playing a demo, nothing happens. if type this command while i create a server and pick any class, it just crashes my tf2.
WTF is it supposed to do??
it gives special conditions
addcond x
x means
0…… Turns you into the T pose, or “Civilian” pose. You will move much slower.
1…… Turns your HUD into a scoped in sniper crosshair, complete with a charging beam!
2…… Disguises you as [Unknown], and you blink in and out of an ending ubercharge flicker (note, whilst attempting to taunt your character will simply not animate, but any kill taunts will still activate).
3…… Seems to do the same as 2.
4…… Cloaks you for a duration. (The Spy can use this to manually activate the Dead Ringer)
5…… You and your hud glows with the ubercharge effect (You become invulnerable).
6…… Your feet glow with the teleporter effect.
7…… Doesn’t appear to do anything.
8…… Doesn’t appear to do anything.
9…… Doesn’t appear to do anything.
10…. Doesn’t appear to do anything.
11…. You become Kritzkrieged (Your shots become all critical hits).
12…. Doesn’t appear to do anything.
13…. Doesn’t appear to do anything.
14…. Holsters your weapon. You become unable to fire your weapon. Its apparently the Bonk! Effect, thanks to Toahpt.
15…. Doesn’t appear to do anything.
16…. Your weapon glows yellow for a few seconds (Your shot temporarily becomes a mini-crit).
17…. You scream and charge forward like a targe-demoman (Doesn’t work with the targe, and even then only makes you inch forward by 1 hammer unit).
*Thanks to Psihomir2, apparently binding addcond 17 and holding that button causes you to “charge” like a demoman, turning your melee into a crit. However, you don’t have the “burst of speed”, and you have a narrow choice of turning.*
18…. Doesn’t appear to do anything.
19…. Doesn’t appear to do anything.
20…. Burns you for 0 flame damage and 0 afterburn over 0.1 seconds. You scream as though you were on fire.
21…. Doesn’t appear to do anything.
22…. You become jarate’d for a short duration.
23…. Same as 22.
24…. Same as 22.
25…. Same as 22.
26…. Same as 22.
27…. or over…Jarate’d effect
