Hey,
(I’ve looked for posts about this but I haven’t found anything for my problem)
I’ve been using Vegas for a while now and I was wondering if someone could help me with 2 things.
1. How to I get Vegas to slow my Audio down automatically when I slow the corresponding video clip down
and
2. I’ve seen the Audio timeshift thing and I was wondering what method was the best way to slow down/ speed up audio without creating that horrible echo.
Thanks,
Stark

So I go Properties -> Method -> Élastique -> Lock to stretch?
Because that does nothing :S

It will do something when you stretch the clip.
Remember to hold ctrl when you’re stretching your clip.
Ive got a problem that i cant fast forward in vegas 8 pro, after i render the video the fast forward part is black :\ anybody else have that problem?

@ Sorrow, never gotten
But yeah, you hold ctrl when you try to make the clip longer to make slow mo.
Don’t lock to stretch when doing fast forward clips

yeah i know, slow motion works for me but fast forwarding doesnt : so annoying!
That would be that your clip is in another clip, zoom in the clip and move it forward, that should help.

and why is that?
Lock on strech is really good if you want to fastforward or slowdown a clip the fast way.

Lock to stretch has an effect on the pitch of sound depending on whether you increase or decrease the speed of the clip.
In the case of slow motion, its fantastic as it gets rid of the choppy sound and giving it an echo effect.
When you lock to stretch a fast forward clip it will in turn increase the pitch and make it seem very chipmunk, while leaving it as is results in an adjusted speed but also with the same pitch.

When you want to slow down your clip you hold ctrl and extend the clip. At the same time the sound is extended but much like how a low fps clip would become choppy the audio becomes choppy. To remedy this you right click on the audio clip and go to properties, where you can check a ‘lock to stretch’ option. This in some ways smooths out the audio to the stretch you applied to it, resulting in a sweet echo sound.
