so since the update that broke all the demos and shizz, i got a few new clips and tried to record them.

I opened tf2 through the pldx recorder tool.
opened up my demo.
then if people are familiar with this method, you press f11 to record the clip and usually a box pops up where you select the codec you wana record with (larignth codec for me…)

since the update when i press f11 the box doesnt come up, and the game slows down a bit as if it’s recording, but nothing actualy records.

sorry that this is a bit specific, but i figured some of you may record in the same way and may have a fix, or could offer an alternative record method. (not fraps etc.. ¬¬)

Known issue. Valve broke the demo playback/record features.

@chris, my pc cant really cope with the compiling of the videos :/

if it’s a know issue then i might just wait out for a patch :S ?

im not in a rush i can just cary on recording the clips, and hope the patch doesnt make demos unwatchable again :(

It works, but you can’t choose which codec anymore. Also, the playing back is borked (can’t jump to ticks as easily, unlocks not showing).

(tbh, you’re better recording tga/wav anyway).

oh also, heres a solution to the goto being broken:
demo_timescale 20 (default: 1, 600% on demoui slider = demo_timescale 6)
It doesn’t affect the demo when its actually recording, only when playing back a demo. If you want to slowmo the recording itself then use host_timescale.

I had a problem opening some demo, but the reason was becuase the name of the team i was playing on in that demo had () in it (i thinki), i renamed the demo and then i worked.

Just if someone has the same problem ;p
